Week 1 is in the books and we had a great start to the season. The Seattle Seahawks covered the 3.5-points and we won our same game parlay, as the Under 47.5 points also hit. It’s time to keep the good times rolling in Week 2!

This week, we’re going to focus on the game between the Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars. The Broncos started their season by taking care of business with a 27-13 road win against the New York Giants. Meanwhile, the Jaguars looked like an absolute dumpster fire, losing 37-21 to the Houston Texans, a team projected to be the worst in football.

Let’s take a closer look to see which side to take in this matchup in the NFL pick of the day series.

Best Bet: Broncos -6 (-110) at BetMGM

Denver Broncos vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Prediction

The Broncos’ defense caused problems for the Giants, sacking quarterback Daniel Jones twice and forcing a fumble. The Giants were held to 6.5 yards per pass attempt, 3.0 yards per carry, and 5.3 yards per play.

On offense, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was efficient, completing 28-of-36 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns. Running backs Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams combined for 146 yards on 25 carries and although breakout wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was lost to a high ankle sprain, this offense still looks promising going forward.

The Jaguars had a disastrous performance in head coach Urban Meyer’s NFL debut. The defense allowed 160 rushing yards and struggled to defend the pass as well, giving up 8.8 yards per pass attempt to Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor. Taylor’s top target Brandin Cooks tore apart this Jaguars secondary to the tune of 132 yards on just five catches.

On offense, rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence struggled in his debut, completing only 54.9 percent of his passes and throwing three interceptions. That’s bad news against a Broncos defense that projects to be among the best in the NFL.

Prediction: Denver Broncos 28, Jacksonville Jaguars 10

Denver Broncos vs Jacksonville Jaguars Best Bets

Best Bet: Broncos -6 (-110) at BetMGM

The Broncos should be able to control this game on the ground with Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams. The Jaguars look like a totally dysfunctional team right now and will struggle to get things going against this Broncos defense. There are also rumors that Urban Meyer is already mulling over abandoning his position and taking the vacant USC head coaching job, which Meyer denied on Wednesday. There’s no denying the Jags are a bit of a mess right now, so you need to take advantage of the fact that you’re getting this line at less than a touchdown.

The line may change throughout the week, however, so be sure to keep an eye on our NFL gameday odds.

Best Bet: Under 45 (-110) at BetMGM

It’s tough to see how the Jaguars will score enough points for this total to go over the number. This is an offense that averaged only 5.8 yards per play against the Texans, who have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. What’s going to happen when they have to face an elite defense like the Broncos? I’ll give you a hint: it won’t be pretty. While the Broncos should be able to move the ball, I could see them slowing the game down, especially if they go up by double-digits like I project. Go with the Under here.

Broncos vs. Jaguars Same Game Parlay Picks

  • Points Total Under 45.5 (-115) at BetMGM
  • Broncos -5.5 (-120) at BetMGM

The Broncos and the Under have a strong correlation because if they win and cover the spread, it’s likely that they’re controlling the clock and churning out yardage on the ground. We’d also see the defense playing well in that situation.

The only way that I see this game going over is if the Jaguars cover the six-point spread or if the Broncos rack up a defensive or special teams touchdown. This Jaguars team is in a total state of disarray and we need to target them right now. That performance against the Texans was highly concerning. This team looks like the worst in the NFL right now.
