Betslip Builder | Create Your Own Betslip

Betslip Builder

How to Use Our Betslip Builder?

Here is how to use The Game Day’s Betslip Builder, which brings you an interactive and efficient way to place your wagers.

There is a drop-down menu where you can toggle between these options:

  • Choose your preferred sport.
  • Pick the game that you want to target.
  • Decide on the bet type: moneylines, spreads, or Over/Under.

If you want player props, they are found in the section directly below where it says ‘Single Odds’ or ‘Parlay Odds.’

You have the option to pick between ‘Best Odds’ or choose a specific sportsbook.

  • ‘Best Odds’ refers to the most favorable number at our given list of sportsbooks.
  • If you want to target a specific betting site, you can pick between BetMGM, BetRivers, Caesars, or Unibet.

You’re also able to decide whether you want it to be a parlay or straight bet. Choose ‘Single Odds’ for a straight wager and ‘Parlay Odds’ for parlays.

Here are the next steps:

  • Click your preferred play to add it to the betslip.
  • If you’re on ‘Single Odds,’ this will appear as a straight bet.
  • You will have the option to type in your stake.
  • The payout will be reflected, based on the odds of your wager.
  • If you want a parlay, click ‘Parlay Odds.’
  • Add two or more picks to your bet slip.
  • Your payout will be adjusted according to the odds.

Once you’re ready, you can click our link to be directed to your chosen sportsbook. For example, if you want to bet the Nets -5.5 at BetRivers, you can click “Bet at BetRivers."

This is a convenient way to create your betslip. It’s great that you can adjust it at The Game Day without having to do so again at BetRivers or any other online sportsbook. You can place your bet right away!

What Is a Betslip?

A betslip is a list of your wagers. Each time you click a bet, it will be added to your betslip. You will also see your potential payout, which is based on your stake and the odds of each pick. As you adjust your allotted risk. your payout will change as well.

You can either make straight bets or parlays on betslips. While wagering at online sportsbooks, you will always be notified of a change in odds if it occurs while you’re placing a bet.

Every sportsbook has a betslip for each user, whether it’s online or in person.

How Does a Betslip Work?

Whether you want to wager on moneylines, point spreads, or totals, you’re able to do so on a bet slip. Once you click on your preferred bet, it will be added to the betslip. Next, you can adjust your stake to your preference. Once you’re ready, click ‘Place Wager.’

Betting Moneylines on a Betslip

Moneylines are a type of bet where you simply need to pick the winner of a game. There’s no need to worry about the margin of victory here.

There is the favorite (minus odds) and underdog (plus odds). The moneyline is based on implied probability. For example, -110 odds is about 50% implied probability.

You can identify a moneyline by the odds listed right next to a given team. When you click your moneyline, it will be added to your betslip.

Betting Point Spreads on a Betslip

Point spreads are similar to moneylines in that they involve the final outcome between two teams, but the difference is that they focus on the margin of victory. Instead of just picking a winner, you need your team to “cover the spread."

There is a favorite (minus the points) and underdog (plus the points). If you take the favorite, they need to win by more than the assigned spread. Choosing the underdog means they can win outright or lose by fewer than the spread.

For example, taking the Nets -5.5 would mean they need to win by six or more. Taking the Wizards +5.5 means they can win or lose by five or fewer. You can bet spreads as single wagers or parlays on your betslip.

Betting Totals on a Betslip

Totals are assigned to each game and you need to decide whether you think the final result will be Over or Under the number.

You can wager on the game (combined score of both teams), team (focus on one team), or half/period/quarter, depending on the sport.

You’ll see the total listed next to each moneyline and spread. If you want a more niche market, like team totals, you’ll need to click the game to access more wagers.

How to Build a Parlay on a Betslip?

When using the betslip tool at The Game Day, you’ll need to select ‘Parlay Odds’ and then choose your preferred wagers to create a parlay.

The best part about using this tool is that you can see which sportsbook has the most favorable line for you. It’s an efficient way to get the best “bang for your buck."

When building a parlay directly on an online sportsbook, you need to click multiple wagers. This will add them to your bet slip. You’ll have the option to either place them as single bets or in a parlay.

If you want to create a Same Game Parlay, you’ll have to select that option, which is often found under ‘More Wagers’ or by clicking your desired match.

Keep in mind that some sportsbooks don’t allow you to parlay certain bets within the same game. For example, I’ve noticed that some parlay betting sites don’t let you combine a team total with their moneyline.

Be sure to use our tool to for a faster way to parlay building.

Check out our parlay calculator.

Can I Edit a Betslip?

When creating your betslip online, you’re able to edit it if you want to make any changes. It’s not like you need to delete every pick and start all over.

Simply click the red ‘X’ to remove a wager from your bet slip. Your potential payout will be adjusted to reflect this change.

Some online sportsbooks may have it listed as ‘Clear’ instead of an ‘X,’ but whatever it is, it has the same function, which enables you to make any desired changes.

If you’re creating a betslip at a physical sportsbook, here’s what you need to do:

  • Grab the betting sheet to find the ID numbers of each wager.
  • Provide the ID, wager type, and stake to the ticket writer at the window.
  • Once you provide the money for your bet, you’ll receive a ticket.

You need to make sure that your ticket is correct while still at the window. This is your time where you can make any changes if there is a mistake. Once you leave, you are unable to edit the betslip at a later time, so be sure to do it right away.

Do Betslips Expire?

If you’re betting online, your betslips won’t expire. However, if you don’t place your wager after several minutes, you may be logged out of your account, causing you to have to create the betslip all over again.

When betting in person, your betslip can expire if it’s not cashed in time.

How Long Do You Have to Cash a Betslip?

Online sportsbooks cash your betslip immediately. Once your event has been settled, you’ll see your balance updated to reflect any winnings. If you notice a delay, don’t worry — it may take up to an hour for the bet to be settled.

When wagering in person, you’ll need to cash your ticket within 365 days following the event. Bring your ticket to the window and they’ll scan it, providing you with your winnings.

Let’s say that you made a futures bet, which settles at the end of the season. You’re able to mail your winning ticket and you’ll receive your winnings. This information is found on the back of your ticket.

What Is a Voided Bet?

A voided bet is when your wager is cancelled. You’ll get back your stake. For example, if I bet $20 on a voided bet, I’ll get back by $20.

This is also known as a “push." It can occur in the following scenarios:

  • Your point spread or totals wager is a whole number (i.e. -10 or 44) and the result lands there (ex. Patriots win 24-14 or the Jets/Bills game ends 24-20).
  • You’ve wagered on a player prop, but the player has not seen any game action.
    • Players need to step into action for the wager to count.
    • Some online sportsbooks void your bet if your player gets injured right at the beginning of the game, but this is not always the case.
  • Weather has caused the game to be suspended.
    • Ex. If you take the Under 7.5 in an MLB game that is suspended after four innings due to rain, your wager will push.

How to Calculate Betting Odds on a Betslip?

The great part about betslips is that your betting odds are automatically calculated. However, if you’re at a physical sportsbook and would like to determine your potential payout before printing the ticket, here’s what you do:

American Odds

This is the most common format in the United States.

  • Listed as positive (+130) or negative (-150) numbers.
  • Stake $20 on +130 odds:
    • 20 x 1.3 = $26 is your payout.
  • Win $20 on -150 odds:
    • 20 x 1.5 = $30 is your required stake.
  • Risk $20 on -150 odds:
    • 20 / 1.5 = $13.33 is the payout

Decimal Odds

This format is more often used in Europe. The decimal includes your potential return (both stake and winnings). Think of each wager as a $1 bet. If the decimal odds are 1.91, that means your return is $1.91 on $1 ($1 stake + $0.91 profit).

Fractional Odds

You’ll see this mostly in horse racing. The odds are listed as fractions. You can convert the fraction into a decimal and multiply that result by your stake to see the potential payout:

  • $20 on 5/2 odds
  • 5 divided by 2 = 2.5
  • 20 x 2.5 = $50
