This parlay has tremendous, favorable odds that do not match the likelihood of this hitting. All four teams that we’re taking the moneyline on are expected to be in the playoff picture come October.

First off, the Giants have Carlos Rodon taking the mound against Zach Plesac of the Guardians. Cleveland has overperformed to this point and Plesac isn’t an arm that the San Francisco’s lineup should be fearful of.

Meanwhile, Rodon is coming off an All-Star season and looked fantastic in his first start, racking up 12 strikeouts. The Guardians have performed well against southpaws, but Rodon is one of the best in the game and has done well against opposite-handed hitters over the past year.

The Angels will send rookie southpaw Reid Detmers to the hill opposite Matt Bush of the Rangers with Texas looking at a pure bullpen game. Los Angeles is a superior team in just about every way and I expect Detmers to challenge the Rangers’ better left-handed bats like Corey Seager and Nathaniel Lowe.

The Phillies have Zach Eflin going up against the Marlins’ Pablo Lopez. While Lopez is an excellent arm in his own right, Philadelphia’s lineup is red-hot. Eflin is one of the game’s most underrated pitchers and I fully expect him to have his way with Miami’s weak lineup.

Lastly, the Brewers will have Freddy Peralta on the bump against Miles Mikolas of the Cardinals. Peralta did not pitch well in his first start of the season, but after putting together an outstanding 2021 season, I expect him to return to himself in this start and challenge the predominantly right-handed lineup of St. Louis.

With the excellent odds this parlay presents, this is my MLB parlay pick of the day.

MLB Longshot Parlay Bet Today

Today’s Longshot Parlay (+1411)

  • Minnesota Twins Moneyline (+105)
  • Oakland Athletics Moneyline (+150)
  • Cincinnati Reds Moneyline (+195)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Best MLB Longshot Parlay Today

For our longshot parlay of the day, we’ll be backing three plus-odds moneylines for some of the biggest underdogs. Today’s slate has a lot of really close matchups in terms of odds, but these stand out as some of the games where I see the most value.

Joe Ryan of the Twins is one of the best young arms in the game and I expect him to pitch well enough to get a win over the Red Sox and the shaky Nick Pivetta. Minnesota has some hot bats at the moment and while their lineup cannot contend with Boston’s, Ryan should win the pitching battle here.

The A’s are an interesting team as many expected them to be a bottom-feeder this year. They have one of the league’s best run differentials so far, however, and are rolling out one of their top young starters in Daulton Jeffries.

The Blue Jays’ lineup is always dangerous, but Ross Stripling has looked atrocious across the past few seasons, making the (+150) odds here quite interesting.

The biggest underdog on the slate is the Reds at (+195). The Dodgers are one of the best teams in baseball, but Tony Gonsolin is prone to getting touched up on occasion. Cincinnati’s best hitters are left-handed and should give Gonsolin fits.

There’s a lot of value to be had on this pick, especially with the promising Vladimir Gutierrez on the hill for Cincinnati.
