2021 NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 17 | Who To Pick In Knockout Pool Week 17

Last Updated: Dec 29, 2021

Last week, I told readers to go ahead and take the Seattle Seahawks against the Chicago Bears. The Bears had Nick Foles under center and found a way to beat the Seattle Seahawks, because of course they did.

That’s how hard picking games is in a Survivor Pool, especially this deep into the season. If you’re still alive in your pool, with two more weeks to go, congratulations. Winning a pool is a little bit of luck but a lot of skill.

Again, I’ve been out of my pool for quite a while now, but I’m here to help those who are still in theirs. I’m not going to sit here and worry about taking teams I’ve already used. At this point, I just want to help whoever is alive and give them the best pick possible.

All NFL Week 17 odds and lines are current as of 10:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday, December 29.

The above survivor pool grid, created by Todd Beck of “The Prediction Tracker," uses the average of the top computer ratings in the sports betting industry including computer systems like Sagarin, ESPN FPI, Massey Ratings, Stat Fox, and many, many more.

To read this grid properly, the opening line and current line are based on the road team.

Keep in mind that when this article is posted, current lines can change and probability for teams can also change based on breaking news.

2021 NFL Survivor Pool: Best Picks to Win in Week 17

New England Patriots vs Jacksonville Jaguars

If you haven’t played the New England Patriots yet this season, this is the week. The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off a loss to the New York Jets, and it really doesn’t get much lower than that. The Jets had many players out with COVID yet still found a way to defeat the Jaguars.

Meanwhile, the Patriots are coming off a tough loss to the Buffalo Bills and will be determined to get back in the win column to give themselves a chance at the AFC East division.

The Patriots don’t have the best quarterback play with Mac Jones, but their game-planning is always so spot on week after week that they’ll almost always have a chance to win.

The Jaguars are checked out at this point. The Patriots are projected to win nearly 88 percent of the time against the Jaguars and are a 15.5-point favorite per our NFL gameday odds. And I completely agree with it.

Betting Pick: Patriots -15.5 (-110) at Caesars

Buffalo Bills vs Atlanta Falcons

I’m going to assume that most of the people still alive have already used the Bills. However, if you haven’t, the Bills are the next best play after the Patriots.

The Bills are in the same situation as the Patriots. They want that AFC East division and will need to defeat the Falcons to stick around in the race.

The Falcons defeated the Detroit Lions last week, but almost lost on a Russell Gage fumble late in the fourth quarter. The sad part here is that the Lions didn’t even have Jared Goff and scored 16 points with Tim Boyle at quarterback.

This is the perfect spot for Josh Allen to sling it around the field and accumulate a large number of points. The Atlanta Falcons have been trading wins for losses so if that trend continues, the Falcons should end up losing to Buffalo.

The Prediction Tracker has the Bills winning 83.72 percent of the time. That’s really great to see if you’re on the Bills, which makes this our NFL bet of the day.

Betting Pick: Bills -14.5 (-110) at Caesars

2021 NFL Survivor Pools: Sleeper Team To Win

Kansas City Chiefs vs Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals just went for 525 yards through the air on the Baltimore Ravens last week and looked like an unstoppable offense. The Chiefs, on the other hand, have played so much better defensively in the second half of the season.

But this is going to be a real challenge for the Chiefs. Facing a hot Bengals offense is never easy. With the Bengals sitting at +5 at home, I’d stay away from this game if you’re looking to bet on the Chiefs.

The Chiefs might be Super Bowl Contenders, but don’t bother with them against the Bengals this week.

2021 NFL Survivor Pools: Chalk Pick That Could Lose

Los Angeles Rams vs Baltimore Ravens

The Los Angeles Rams barely survived last week, defeating the Minnesota Vikings 30-23. Matthew Stafford threw three interceptions and really didn’t look like himself. Minnesota was known as a terrible secondary and a defense that has played extremely poorly this season.

That’s what the Ravens are looking like right now. They’re a defense that has underperformed all season and has a terrible secondary. But with the way Stafford is taking chances throwing the football, there’s room for the Ravens’ defense to make an impact and help win this game.

If Lamar Jackson is healthy and back, stay off of the Rams.
