Nuggets Odds, Spreads, & Props 2024

Last Updated: Aug 22, 2023

Just a couple of months ago, The Denver Nuggets won their first NBA title since the franchise was first founded in 1967. Led by all-world center Nikola Jokić, the Nuggets not only won the title but did so in dominant fashion, going 16-4 in the playoffs.

However, Jokić didn’t do it alone. His running mate, Jamal Murray, showed how important he is to this Nuggets team in his first season back from a torn ACL, averaging 26.1 points per game to go along with 7.1 assists and 5.7 rebounds while shooting nearly 40% from three throughout the postseason.

In addition to Murray, players such as Bruce Brown, Aaron Gordon, Christian Braun, Michael Porter Jr., and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope all made valuable contributions to the team.

Now, all eyes are on the Nuggets as they enter the 2023-24 season as the favorites to repeat as NBA champions. With the NBA season right around the corner, now is a good time to assess some Nuggets prop bets for the upcoming campaign.

Nuggets: Win 55+ Regular-Season Games (+100)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 2 Units

The Nuggets had a 53-29 record last season, earning the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. Murray showed signs of rust throughout the regular season in his return from his ACL injury and regularly needed to sit out for back-to-back sets.

Now, Murray enters this season primed to build off of his strong postseason showing with a full offseason to rest and prepare himself.

The Western Conference is filled with a lot of talented teams, but the Nuggets have arguably the deepest and the most well-balanced roster. Losing Brown to the Indiana Pacers in free agency was a big loss, but Braun showed a lot of promise in his rookie season and figures to see an increased role this season.

Denver also has the best basketball player in the world in Jokić. He has won two of the last three NBA MVP Awards and figures to be firmly in the mix to make it three in four seasons by leading the Nuggets to at least 55 wins in 2023-24, making this my NBA bet of the day.

Northwest Division Straight Forecast: 1st DEN/2nd MIN (+150)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

Denver cruised to a divisional crown in 2022-23. The next-closest team was the Minnesota Timberwolves, who finished the season 11 games back of the Nuggets.

They are head and shoulders above the rest of the Northwest. However, the division certainly has an interesting mix of talented, young players between the Timberwolves, Utah Jazz, Portland Trail Blazers, and Oklahoma City Thunder, as evidenced by the latest NBA Northwest Division odds.

The Timberwolves were the only other team in the division to finish the season with a winning record. They mortgaged their future to acquire Rudy Gobert in a blockbuster trade last summer, which proved to be an awkward fit alongside Karl-Anthony Towns.

Despite that, the Wolves arguably have the second-best player in the division in Anthony Edwards. Only 22 years old, he is a special player who is going to continue to improve this season, entering the season with momentum after representing Team USA in the FIBA World Cup.

It wasn’t always pretty for the Timberwolves, but they found ways to win and sneak into the playoffs last season. They should build off of last year and finish in second place in the Northwest division, behind the Nuggets.

Michael Malone: Wins NBA Coach of the Year (+850)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 0.5 Units

Winning a title is one thing, but being able to replicate that performance the next season is another. Teams tend to come out the following season a little sluggish after climbing the highest mountain top there is to climb.

The dreaded “championship hangover” effect can be very real in addition to now having an even larger target on your back.

The Nuggets have won 46 games or more in six of eight seasons under Michael Malone’s watch, but he has no Coach of the Year honors to show for it. He finished third in 2018-19 and has received votes each of the last four seasons.

Betting on the coach of the best team in basketball to win Coach of the Year is never a bad investment, and the latest NBA COTY odds help back up that claim.

How to Bet on Nuggets Games 2024

How to Bet Nuggets Moneylines

Betting on Nuggets moneylines has proven to be profitable during the Malone/Jokić/Murray era. The trio gives the team a chance to win on any given night as long as they’re all available.

The Nuggets have posted at least a 56.1 winning percentage in each of the last six seasons and have shown no signs of slowing down. Jokić and Murray are just entering the prime of their respective careers, and Porter is still just scratching the surface of what he is capable of.

With that said, the Nuggets are going to be highly favored more often than not as they enter the season with championship aspirations. It will be tough to get good value when betting on the Nuggets unless they are on the road against a quality opponent or happen to be missing a key player from their rotation.

Whatever it may be, they will win a lot more games than they lose next season, making them a worthwhile team to bet on the moneylines.

  • 2022-23 Nuggets Moneyline Record: 53-29

How to Bet Nuggets Spreads

Since the Nuggets are likely going to be such big favorites against nearly every team they face, betting on spreads could be a better way to invest in Denver.

Despite the Nuggets being as highly favored as they were throughout last season, they did not let that take away their hunger. Coach Malone was able to light a fire underneath this team, and they still kept their foot on the gas every night regardless of the opponent, which led to a lot of blowout victories.

Their 3.33 average margin of victory was good for the sixth-highest in the NBA. This translated to successful spread bets when wagering on the Nuggets.

  • 2022-23 Nuggets Against the Spread Record: 44-37-1

How to Bet Nuggets Over/Unders

Denver just won the NBA Finals despite ranking 15th defensively in the regular season — the second-lowest defensive ranking for an NBA champion over the last 27 years. They were 23rd last season in pace, which makes the middling defensive numbers an even tougher pill to swallow.

“The best defense is a good offense,” is a very fitting expression for the Nuggets. They masked their average defense with an elite offense, ranking fifth in the NBA in offensive rating.

Their combination of mediocre defense and excellent offense made them a difficult team to bet on their respective Over/Under lines this past season.
