Best 76ers Betting Lines 2023

The Philadelphia 76ers got busy following their untimely exit from the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Not only did the franchise re-sign superstar guard James Harden, but it also added key role players in Montrezl Harrell, De’Anthony Melton, P.J. Tucker, and Danuel House Jr.

The team now has a much more reliable group of bench players to lean on when Harden, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, or Tobias Harris is off the floor, providing coach Doc Rivers the opportunity to build a well-rounded rotation.

But will that be enough for the 76ers to finally win their first title since 1983?

Let’s take a closer look at the 76ers betting odds for the 2022-23 NBA season.

76ers NBA Finals Odds

76ers Win 2023 NBA Finals (+1700)

I’m a big fan of this play at (+1700).

Do I think the 76ers will win the NBA Finals? Not necessarily. There are better teams ahead of them. But the value presented here is almost impossible to ignore.

There’s a world in which the 76ers end up being better than the Suns (+1000), Nets (+700), or Bucks (+650) this season, and all of those teams have shorter odds to win the title. If you believe that Philadelphia has a better shot than even a single team from that group, you’d be foolish to fade them in this spot.

76ers Eastern Conference Odds

76ers Win Eastern Conference (+850)

Following suit with the bet above, we’re riding with the 76ers to win the Eastern Conference and make the trip to the NBA Finals at (+850) odds.

FanDuel is giving Philadelphia the fifth-best odds to win the Eastern Conference Finals. They’re essentially tied with the Heat (+800), but there’s quite a bit of distance between them and the third-place Nets (+370).

The Sixers’ offseason additions give them exactly what they need to compete with the rest of the East, and with a full season of Harden and Embiid on the floor together, I have to believe that Philly’s chances are better than sportsbooks are projecting.

76ers Atlantic Division Odds

76ers Win Atlantic Division (+350)

I’ll be the first to speak to the absolute brute strength of the Atlantic Division. The Celtics, Nets, 76ers, and Raptors are all legitimate title contenders, and they’ll each play four games against the other throughout the course of the season.

To put it simply, it’s going to be rough out there.

On paper, the 76ers are probably the third-best team in this class, behind the Nets and Celtics. But with Brooklyn looking rather unproven and Boston set to be without coach Ime Udoka for the 2022-23 season, the race is surprisingly wide-open.

At (+350) odds, I would strongly consider a small wager on Philly here.

76ers Make Playoffs Odds

76ers Make the Playoffs (-950)

In no way, shape, or form will the 76ers miss the playoffs this year. Don’t waste your money betting that they will or won’t, though — there’s no value to be had here.

76ers Win Total Bets 2023

76ers OVER 50.5 Wins (-115)

The Eastern Conference will be highly competitive this season. In addition to the 76ers, the Bucks, Celtics, Heat, and Nets are all projected to be in 50-win territory, and there are a few more teams — including the Cavaliers — that aren’t far behind.

I have several of those teams hitting the Under, whether it be because of health concerns, a difficult schedule, etc. But this line seems a touch too low for the Sixers, and because of that, I’m leaning with the Over here.

Philadelphia won 51 games last season and made some pretty drastic improvements to the roster over the summer. They’ll be challenged along the way, but I’m feeling especially optimistic about their regular-season success right now.

76ers Prop Bets 2023

Joel Embiid Wins NBA MVP (+700)

Embiid barely missed out on his first MVP award in 2022, finishing just behind Nuggets star Nikola Jokić for the second year in a row. The superstar big man led the 76ers (and the league) in scoring at 30.6 points per game, becoming the first center to win the scoring title since Shaquille O’Neal did it in 2000.

Embiid’s offensive efficiency was staggering this past season. The seven-footer wasn’t too far off from posting a 50/40/90 campaign, and he attempted nearly 12 free throws per game. Had it not been for Jokić’s historic year, Embiid would have been the runaway winner.

A repeat performance seems unlikely for Jokić now that his Nuggets have returned to full strength, but there’s no reason why Embiid can’t replicate the numbers we saw from him in 2021-22. If he can come close to matching them, the award will be his to lose.

How to Bet 76ers Moneylines

Moneyline betting is as easy as it gets. All you have to do to win a moneyline wager is correctly pick the winner of a game. It’s not always that straightforward, but this is by far the most simple type of bet you can make on basketball games.

For example, let’s say the 76ers are playing the Raptors in Philadelphia. The Sixers would likely be the favorite in this scenario, and they might have (-145) odds to win the game. This means that a $14.50 bet would win you $10. On the contrary, if the Raptors have (+145) odds to win, a $10 bet would win you $14.50.

A team’s moneyline odds will change ahead of each game and vary depending upon their opponent. It isn’t always the best decision to bet on the favorite, so paying attention to the value you can get with each team is key here.

How to Bet 76ers Spreads

Spread betting takes moneyline betting a step further by introducing a margin of victory. With this type of wager, it’s possible for your team to win the game but still fail to cover the spread.

For example, let’s say that the 76ers are taking on the Celtics in Boston. Philadelphia would likely be the underdog in this contest. At a betting site, this might look like this: 76ers +3.5 (-110) at Celtics -3.5 (-110).

In this case, the Sixers would need to win outright or lose the game by less than three points to cover the spread. Alternatively, if the Celtics win by 4+ points, they would cover the spread instead.

How to Bet 76ers Over/Unders

Over/Unders are a fun way to bet on games when you’re unsure who will come out on top. Instead of picking the winner or their margin of victory/defeat, Over/Unders are all about the combined scoring total of a contest.

Against the Nets, the Over/Under might be set at 236.5 points. This means that the Over will hit if the actual combined scoring total is 237+ points, while the Under would hit if fewer than 236 total points are scored in the game.
