76ers Odds, Spreads, & Props 2024

Last Updated: Sep 5, 2023

It was another disappointing year for the Philadelphia 76ers, who impressed in the regular season to the tune of a 54-28 record before falling to the Boston Celtics in the second round of the NBA Playoffs in embarrassing fashion.

That early exit resulted in the ousting of Doc Rivers as the team’s head coach, but unfortunately for Sixers fans, the drama didn’t stop there. Now, the franchise remains entrenched in a battle with James Harden, who has distanced himself from the organization via trade requests and public criticism.

With a new coach on the sidelines and potentially one less superstar on the roster, 2023-24 could prove to be a down year for Philly.

Here are the best Philadelphia 76ers prop bets to make ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season.

76ers: Under 49.5 Wins (-130)

Caesars Sportsbook • WAGER: 2 Units

The 76ers won 54 games in 2022-23, which was, admittedly, above expectations. Philadelphia came into the campaign with its win total set at 50.5 for the second consecutive season and hit the Over by the end of March.

I’m not feeling so optimistic about another Over in 2023-24, though. The Harden situation has proved to be a massive distraction, and even if the franchise ends up finding a trade partner for him, it seems unlikely that they can expect any real value in return given how it’s played out thus far.

To make matters worse for the 76ers, the Eastern Conference still looks pretty stout. Boston, Miami, and Milwaukee will all be vying for top seeds, and it seems unlikely that all three win 50-plus games, let alone a potential fourth in Philadelphia.

This is an easy Under. Lock in the Sixers to go Under 49.5 wins and make this your NBA bet of the day.

Joel Embiid: Wins NBA MVP (+850)

Caesars Sportsbook • WAGER: 0.5 Units

If there’s any silver lining to the Harden situation, it’s that this could truly be a monster season for Joel Embiid. The 29-year-old averaged a career-high 33.1 points per game this past season, but under Nick Nurse, he could accomplish even more.

Nurse is notorious for giving his star players heavy workloads, as evidenced by Pascal Siakam leading the league in minutes per game in each of the last two seasons. Fred VanVleet cracked the top five in each year, too.

With more time spent on the floor, Embiid is bound to attempt more shots. His efficiency may take a dip, but that’ll hardly matter to MVP voters when he leads the league in scoring and sets yet another career-high mark in points per game.

Embiid currently sits in fourth in the NBA MVP odds, so now is a great time to jump on this prop and maximize your value.

Tyrese Maxey: Wins NBA Most Improved Player (+700)

Caesars Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

Another player who could benefit from the Harden fallout is Tyrese Maxey, who figures to slide into the No. 2 role in the offense behind Embiid.

Maxey is already a terrific player, averaging a career-high 20.3 points per game in 2022-23 — his third year in the NBA. He’ll still be just 22 years old when the 2023-24 season rolls around, too, which bodes well for his chances of being named the league’s most-improved player.

As it stands, Maxey sits atop the NBA MIP odds at (+700). Even though he’s the odds-on favorite, there’s still plenty of value to take advantage of. Maxey will have every opportunity to shine under Nurse, making him a likely candidate to improve across the board.

How to Bet on 76ers Games 2024

How to Bet 76ers Moneylines

Moneyline bets are an excellent starting point for new bettors and a long-trusted source of profit for experienced ones. To cash in on this type of bet, all you need to do is correctly choose the winner of a game.

A team’s moneyline odds will change depending on the matchup, so it isn’t always best to bet on the team you expect to win. For example, backing the 76ers to upset the Nuggets would earn you a larger payout than taking Philadelphia to defeat the Pistons.

The 76ers were a reliable choice for moneyline bettors in 2022-23, going 54-28 in the regular season. Only two teams posted better win-loss records last year: Boston (57-25) and Milwaukee (58-24).

How to Bet 76ers Spreads

Spread betting is similar to moneylines in the sense that it deals with winners and losers, but instead of directly betting on the winning team, you’re wagering on how a team will perform against the point spread, which is essentially a projected margin of victory.

For example, if the Sixers are taking on the Pistons, Philadelphia might be picked by 10.5 points. At a sportsbook, that would look like this: Pistons +10.5 (-110) at 76ers -10.5 (-110).

In this case, Philly would need to win the game by more than 10.5 points in order to cover the spread. Otherwise, Detroit would cover.

How to Bet 76ers Over/Unders

Over/Unders are different from moneylines and spreads in the sense that they deal with the total number of points scored in the game. Over/Unders can be a great option when you’re not sure which side will prevail but have a feeling that it’ll be a higher- or lower-scoring game.

In that same matchup with the Pistons, the Over/Under might be set at 226.5 points. The Over would be the winning bet if more than 226.5 points are scored, while the Under would hit if the total falls short of that mark.
