With a reasonably low projected total, the Chargers are expected to defeat the Rams by nearly a touchdown. The Rams are projected to score roughly 17 points despite posting 51 in Week 16.

This looks like a must-win game for the Chargers, who can further distance themselves from the pack in the hunt for an AFC playoff spot. Meanwhile, the Rams have already been eliminated from playoff contention, so a win wouldn’t do much here besides worsen their draft position.
With that said, I don’t expect the Rams to simply let up and allow the Chargers to pummel them. The Rams still have a relatively strong defense, while the Chargers have struggled with consistency all year long.
Moreover, with this being the last “home" game for the Rams (even though they’re technically the road team), they’ll be motivated to give their fans something to remember heading into next season.
I fully anticipate that the Chargers will win this one, but don’t be surprised if it’s closer than most are expecting. Baker Mayfield will certainly aim to show off his skills, and the rest of the Rams roster doesn’t have much to lose, either.
