2022 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 14: Top Pickups
Eric Gordon, SG/SF, Houston Rockets (33% Rostered)
Eric Gordon is having quite the season. For the first time in his career, at age 33, Gordon is averaging a field goal percentage above 50%. While this may be an early-season aberration, it is even more impressive given that he is playing on one of the worst teams of his 14-year career.
Gordon is not an elite fantasy producer but there is value in rostering him, especially considering that he is a prime trade candidate.
A trade would give him a better shot at sustaining his field goal percentage, along with his points, rebounds, and assists which hover around 15/2/3 as they have throughout his career. The threes are what you really want regardless.
- Eric Gordon Waiver Wire FAAB Bid: 10-15%

Danilo Gallinari, SF/PF, Atlanta Hawks (14% Rostered)
Danilo Gallinari benefits from the departure of Cam Reddish this past week and has more potential usage coming his way if John Collins is dealt as well. Collins’ frustrations are well-noted as he has come out and stated some version of “winning solves everything" as the Hawks continue to fall in the standings.
Gallinari is no longer a higher-end fantasy option, but he does not hurt you anywhere and is an increase in shot volume away from becoming a must-have producer. His production since returning from the COVID List is mediocre yet should not discourage anyone looking for points, threes, boards, and an incredible FT boost with little FG hit.
- Danilo Gallinari Waiver Wire FAAB Bid: 5-8%
2022 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 14: Best Players To Stash
Kelly Olynyk, PF/C, Detroit Pistons (48% Rostered)
Kelly Olynyk is somewhat of a forgotten man this season. After signing on with Detroit in the offseason to a hefty 3-year, $37 million dollar contract, we’ve only seen 10 games out of the former top-10 pick.
Olynyk has his flaws but in recent years, the talent has really blossomed. In a starting role with the Rockets last year (while they tanked) Olynyk averaged an incredibly efficient 19 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.8 threes, and 1.4 steals in 27 games!
This sort of upside that comes along with a 55% FG and 85% FT is tantalizing off the waiver wire. Olynyk may not be putting up numbers like that any time soon in his return from injury but even his floor of career production is worthwhile at the end of your bench at least.
- Kelly Olynyk Waiver Wire FAAB Bid: 5-10%
Chimezie Metu, PF, Sacramento Kings (7% Rostered)
Chimezie Metu is finding his footing in the NBA and shockingly enough, in Sacramento rather than the team that drafted him, San Antonio. Metu is a former second-round pick who is still growing. The three-point shot is the biggest addition to his game in recent years, as he only attempted four in his first 2 seasons combined.
Since last year, Metu has shot 152 threes and made 45. A 30% average is not impressive at all, but growth takes time.
The fact that he is moving his game away from the basket benefits not only him in earning more playing time, but also, his team.
Metu’s season-long stats may not be too enticing but over the past month he is averaging 10.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.1 threes, 1.1 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game in 22.5 minutes.
If the Kings make some moves at the deadline, for example dealing Marvin Bagley or Harrison Barnes, we should expect those minutes and volume stats to increase.
- Chimezie Metu Waiver Wire FAAB Bid: 1-3%
2022 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 13: One-Week Streamer Plays
Amir Coffey, PF/C, Los Angeles Clippers (33% Rostered)
Amir Coffey has not only benefitted from the absence of Paul George but also, Luke Kennard in recent weeks. George is likely out for the season while Kennard should return later this week.
However, given Kennard’s prolonged absence due to COVID, we can assume that he will be eased in, and Coffey should keep the role that has allowed him to play significant minutes since December 22nd.
In this span, he is averaging 28.7 minutes, 11.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.9 threes, and one steal per game.
Coffey is shooting 50% from the field and 89% from the free throw stripe during that stretch as well. With 4 games this week, go get him.
- Amir Coffey Waiver Wire FAAB Bid: 1-5%
JaVale McGee, C, Phoenix Suns (25% Rostered)
JaVale McGee always benefits from DeAndre Ayton‘s missed time. Ayton has a sprained ankle now and is slated to miss Monday’s game. There is no word as to whether Ayton will be out for an extended period, but McGee should be added regardless until then.
- JaVale McGee Waiver Wire FAAB Bid: 1-5%
