Australia vs Denmark World Cup Predictions

Last Updated: Dec 2, 2022

Australia will round out their group stage play against Denmark with potential knockout stage qualification on the line.

Denmark will be looking to win the group over the French this year, and that may come down to their goal differential. These two nations are not strangers when it comes to the World Cup as they were in the same group four years ago.

Can Australia advance to the knockout stage? Will Denmark be a dark-horse contender this year?

Let’s dive into the odds and best bets for Australia vs Denmark.

Australia vs Denmark Odds

  • 3-way handicap: Denmark (-175) | Draw (+280) | Australia (+525)

Australia vs Denmark Prediction

Australia 0-2 Denmark

Finishing as the top seed in this group will be crucial. The second-place team will most likely face Argentina in the round of 16.

Denmark will look to secure all three points from this contest and increase their goal differential to topple France for the top spot in Group D.

This will be a low-scoring, slow-paced match with Denmark coming away with the victory.

Australia vs Denmark Betting Tips

These two sides played to a 1-1 draw during the 2018 World Cup and it was the only point Australia won at the tournament. They lost their matches against France and Peru, finishing last in the group four years ago.

Denmark technically did not lose a match during the run of play in 2018 as they drew two matches during the group stage and beat Peru. In the round of 16, the Danes lost to Croatia in a penalty shootout after the score was level at 1-1 at the end of extra time.

Denmark has also been in excellent form in competitions, finishing second in their group in the Nations League and advancing to the semifinals of the 2020 Euros before losing to England. The return of Christian Eriksen to the team will give their midfield a huge boost as he has been excellent for Manchester United this season.

The Danish defense is their identity as they have a disciplined backline and make it very tough for opposing teams to find quality goal-scoring opportunities. They only conceded two total goals in 2018 and haven’t given up more than two goals in a match since March this year against the Netherlands.

Andreas Christensen has been battling an injury which has kept him out of the Barcelona lineup for the past month, but reportedly will be ready to lead the Danish defense.

Australia vs Denmark Best Bets

Denmark: Clean Sheet (-105) at Caesars Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Danes had two clean sheets during the group stage of the 2018 World Cup and the only goal they conceded in group play was the penalty shot against Australia. Their defense is one of the best in the World and it will be tough for Australia to break through their backline.
