Philadelphia Eagles @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers Early Lines

  • Moneyline: Eagles (+310) @ Buccaneers (-420)
  • Spread: Eagles +8.5 (-110) @ Buccaneers -8.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under Points Total: Over 49 (-110), Under 49 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Eagles 20.25, Buccaneers 28.75

BEST BET: UNDER 49 Points (-110)

This matchup is shaping up to be a defensive showdown between two of the better units in the NFC.

Before surrendering 51 points in a meaningless game against the Cowboys to close out the regular season, the Eagles (9-8) had allowed fewer than 20 points in their previous five games. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers (13-4) are one of the stingiest teams in the NFL, yielding just 20.8 points per game.

Tampa Bay’s offense is also depleted without Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown, which has resulted in slow starts for the Bucs during their past few games. Don’t be surprised if that happens again versus Philly’s tough defense and run-heavy offense that will look to control the clock and keep the ball out of Tom Brady‘s hands.

San Francisco 49ers @ Dallas Cowboys Early Lines

  • Moneyline: 49ers (+125), Cowboys (-162)
  • Spread: 49ers +3.5 (-127), Cowboys -3.5 (+105)
  • Over/Under Points Total: Over 49.5 (-110), Under 49.5 (-110)
  • Implied Score: 49ers 23, Cowboys 26.5

BEST BET: Cowboys -3.5 (+105)

The Cowboys (12-5) were one of the NFL’s best teams wire-to-wire, winning six of their first seven games and five of their last six to close out the season. Their offense paced the NFL with 31.2 points per game, while their defense was surprisingly strong as well.

The 49ers (10-7) are a good team, but they’re not on the same level as the Cowboys. Jimmy Garoppolo is no Dak Prescott, and San Francisco’s offense is going to have trouble keeping pace with Dallas on the road.

The Cowboys should be favored by several more points at least, and I’d take them up to a touchdown for my NFL bet of the day.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Kansas City Chiefs Early Lines

  • Moneyline: Steelers (+500), Chiefs (-715)
  • Spread: Steelers +12.5 (-108), Chiefs -12.5 (-113)
  • Over/Under Points Total: Over 46.5 (-110), Under 46.5 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Steelers 17, Chiefs 29.5

Arizona Cardinals @ Los Angeles Rams Early Lines

  • Moneyline: Cardinals (+160), Rams (-200)
  • Spread: Cardinals +4.5 (-114), Rams -4.5 (-107)
  • Over/Under Points Total: Over 50.5 (-112), Under 50.5 (-109)
  • Implied Score: Cardinals 23, Rams 27.5

BEST BET: Rams -4.5 (-107)

While both of these teams lost close games at home in Week 18, they took vastly different paths to the playoffs.

The Cardinals (11-6) limped to the finish line after their hot start, losing four of their final five games as injuries took their toll. Their collapse enabled the surging Rams (12-5) to overtake them and win the NFC West, as Los Angeles roared into the postseason with five wins in its last six games.

Arizona has been in free-fall over the past month, losing two games to teams with sub-.500 records and barely edging the Dallas Cowboys for their lone win during that stretch. Their offense hasn’t been the same without DeAndre Hopkins (knee), while their defense has been gashed for 27.3 points per game over their last six games.

Look for the Rams’ explosive offense to exploit the Cardinals’ reeling defense at home in this divisional clash, especially after earning a 30-23 win in Arizona during Week 14. As long as this spread stays below a touchdown on our NFL gameday odds, I’m taking Los Angeles to cover the points.
