SNF Week 9 Prop Bets | Titans vs Rams For 1 Half Spread, Total Points, & More

Last Updated: Nov 7, 2021

There was plenty of anticipation surrounding the upcoming matchup between the Tennessee Titans and the Los Angeles Rams in Week 9 on Sunday Night Football. The Titans are 6-2 atop the AFC South, while the Rams are 7-1, battling it out with the Arizona Cardinals for the top spot in the NFC West.

Despite the records of both teams, some interest in the game has been lost due to an injury to Derrick Henry that will cause him to miss anywhere between 6-10 weeks. While Tennessee is still a formidable team that shouldn’t be overlooked, Los Angeles has been rolling this season with the addition of Matthew Stafford.

There’s also the fact that the Rams were able to acquire Von Miller via trade, making a defense that already features Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, and Leonard Floyd even more lethal. Tennessee is going to have its hands full in trying to overcome the firepower that Los Angeles possesses.

Will the Titans be able to pull off the upset on the road without their workhorse in Henry, or are the Rams going to cruise to a victory at home with a superior roster? Check out my best game props for this contest below to find out how I envision this game going.

Please note that all NFL Week 9 odds and lines are current as of 11 AM EST on Friday, November 5.

Titans vs. Rams Prop Bets: NFL Week 9 Prop Betting Picks

Rams 1st Half -4.5 (-110) at Caesars

Wager: 1 Unit

I really wish we could have gotten a matchup between the Titans and the Rams with both teams at full strength. However, instead of Henry shouldering the bulk of the workload for Tennessee, it will be Adrian Peterson and Jeremy McNichols in the backfield on Sunday night.

While the Titans are without Henry, the Rams just added Miller via trade, and they could be getting Darious Williams back in their secondary on Sunday night. All signs point toward Los Angeles being able to seize control of this game early in the first half.

In their first eight games of the season, the Rams have held the lead at halftime in six of them. And whenever Los Angeles has a lead at halftime, Sean McVay holds a 43-0 record in his career since joining the Rams in 2017.

I expect the Rams to come out firing early on to seize momentum over a team that will attempt to overcome a significant injury. With Los Angeles having an offense that will cause problems for a middling defense like Tennessee, they can easily secure more than a 4.5-point lead in the first half.

Over 53 Total Points (-110) at Caesars

Wager: 1 Unit

Regardless of Henry’s status, the Titans and the Rams have offenses that score points in bunches. The absence of Henry could force Tennessee to air the ball out more with Ryan Tannehill, who has a dynamic duo in A.J. Brown and Julio Jones at wide receiver.

Tennessee currently owns the sixth-best scoring offense (28.4 points per game), and Los Angeles boasts the fifth-best scoring offense (30.6 points per game). Even with Henry sidelined, I believe these two offensive-minded teams can achieve the total of over 53 points scored on Sunday night.

The Rams should have no issues moving the ball against the 20th ranked defense in DVOA, especially with Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, Van Jefferson, and Darrell Henderson at Stafford’s disposal.

As for the Titans, I can see them scoring a majority of their points in the second half while they are playing from behind, helping us reach the over in total points.

The over has hit in seven out of the last 10 games for the Rams, and the over is 9-1 in Los Angeles’ last 10 games against an opponent in the AFC South, making this our NFL bet of the day.

Rams -7 (-110) at Caesars

Wager: 1 Unit

As much as everyone wants a competitive game on primetime television, we may not get that on Sunday night. The Rams have the superior roster, especially with Henry not in uniform for the Titans.

Los Angeles has an MVP candidate at quarterback in Stafford who is playing the best football of his career. Even though Tannehill is a capable franchise quarterback, he hasn’t had to operate Tennessee’s offense sans Henry before.

McVay will want to preach getting off to a fast start for the Rams, which shouldn’t be an issue for an offense loaded with weapons. The Titans may get off to a slow start on the other side, especially if they attempt to lean into their ground game early instead of leaning on Brown and Jones in the aerial attack.

Tennessee will likely be playing catch-up in the second half, but Los Angeles will be able to hold onto a lead to win the game by at least seven points.

Even though the Titans have a 6-2 record against the spread this season, I see them suffering another loss against the spread in Week 9 versus the Rams, according to our NFL gameday odds.
