NFL DFS Best Picks Week 3 – PrizePicks Lineups & Sleepers

NFL Week 2 was highlighted by the numerous injuries around the league. The trend has continued into Week 3, with the Carolina Panthers suffering a couple of big injuries on Thursday Night Football. Quite quickly, many could see their season-long fantasy football team turn from a contender to a pretender.

If you’re looking to limit the impact injuries may have on your fantasy football fun, playing Daily Fantasy Sports may be a good route for you. DFS or sports betting is also an easy way to bring a bit of excitement into the “boring” matchups of the NFL week.

If you’re looking for a way to combine the fun of betting and fantasy, PrizePicks may be the perfect site for you. Unlike the typical salary cap lineup construction format that most DFS sites follow, PrizePicks allow users a new way to play fantasy.

At PrizePicks, users select player props to pick over or under in a specific category. These picks a strung together in a parlay. Users can pick up to five props. Of course, selecting more props leads to a higher multiplier on the entry fee.

What is great about PrizePicks is that they give another option in addition to the all-or-nothing parlay style we usually see. There is a selection called Flex Play, which allows users to win even with missed picks, though it lowers the potential payout for perfect picks.

In the Flex Play format, users can pick up to five props for a max of a 10x payout for getting them all correctly. There are smaller payouts at four and three correct. Power Play is the all-or-nothing style, which pays out 10x for four correct picks, 5x for three correct picks, and 3x for going two-for-two.

Now that you understand how PrizePicks works, let’s get into the DFS football predictions series for Week 3!

Stat information for NFL DFS Week 3 picks are current as of Friday, September 24, at 9 a.m. ET.

NFL DFS Week 3: Single-Stat Daily Fantasy Sports

With the single-stat game format, users will pick over or under for a player’s performance in a single stat. Users can string picks together across different games and sports.

Justin Fields, QB, Chicago Bears

Over 215.5 Passing Yards

Justin Fields is making his first NFL start, and how fitting is it that he will do it just down the road from where he played his college ball? He is going to be juiced and ready to go, and I don’t believe too much stock should be put into his poor play last week.

Fields has now had a full week of practice as a starter. Not only was he not prepared to be thrust into action last week, but he also has a very different style of play from Andy Dalton.

Now, the game plan in place will suit his strengths, and he will be able to air it out against a defense that has allowed the ninth-most passing yards per attempt (8.4), despite facing another rookie that wasn’t prepared last week.

The Bears are a live dog, and it’s because Fields could have a very nice day.

Austin Ekeler, RB, Los Angeles Chargers

Over 55.5 Rushing Yards

Doesn’t take a genius to understand the Chargers abandoned the run too soon last week in their three-point loss to the Cowboys. Austin Ekeler carried the ball nine times for 54 yards after he totaled 15 carries in Week 1.

Facing the Chiefs, look for the Chargers to run the ball early and often, hoping to go on long scoring drives and keep the Kansas City offense off the field. This is also attacking a weakness for the Chiefs.

Kansas City has surrendered the most yards per rushing attempt in the league at 6.0. Yes, Lamar Jackson is a big reason for this. However, the Chiefs still give up 5.65 yards per attempt to running backs so far this season, which Ekeler should be able to exploit.

Tyler Lockett, WR, Seattle Seahawks

Over 0.5 Receiving TDs

Much like last year, Tyler Lockett is off to a fast start to this season. Also, like last year, there is a good chance he falls off a cliff. However, there’s no reason to think this will be the week, as the Seahawks face a horrendous Vikings secondary.

The Vikings give up a league-worst 77.8 percent completion rate, fifth-worst yards per pass attempt (9.3), and they have surrendered the second-most touchdowns to wide receivers (5).

With DK Metcalf drawing so much attention, Lockett should continue to thrive. He has three touchdowns to begin the season, and he should add at least one more on Sunday in what is expected to be a high-scoring game.

Justin Fields, QB, Chicago Bears

NFL DFS Week 3: Fantasy Score Game

The Fantasy Score Game format follows the same concept as the Single-Stat Game. However, instead of picking a player’s performance in a stat category, users will pick over or under a player’s fantasy point total. For NFL DFS, PrizePicks follows a PPR scoring format.

Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants

Over 15.0 Fantasy Points

The Giants went into Week 1 with a plan to ease Saquon Barkley back into things. They played on Thursday Night Football in Week 2, so it’s tough to justify a full workload on a shortened week. Now, with extra days of rest, this should be the Barkley comeback game.

What better time could there be to see a full workload than when the Atlanta Falcons come to town? The Falcons give up the sixth-most yards per rush attempt (4.9), and they are bottom-10 in most defensive efficiency stats. We will see Barkley involved in both the pass and run games.

Most importantly, there is a high likelihood that he is able to find the end zone with how Atlanta has played so far.

Braxton Berrios, WR, New York Jets

Over 5.5 Fantasy Points

Jamison Crowder is still not practicing, so it looks like the veteran receiver will miss another week. This means we will see another big helping of Braxton Berrios. Yes, the matchup with the Broncos is bad overall for the Jets and Zach Wilson. However, Berrios is the man to target underneath with easy shallow routes, which are routes that will live with Wilson completing.

5.5 fantasy points is nothing, and he will easily eclipse this. Berrios had seven catches for 73 yards last week and five for 51 yards in Week 1. He gets rewarded for his receptions on PrizePicks, and so will you.

K.J. Osborn, WR, Minnesota Vikings

Over 10.0 Fantasy Points

If you haven’t heard the name K.J. Osborn yet this season, it’s time to pay a bit more attention since he has been balling for the Minnesota Vikings. He played nearly 60 percent of the snaps last week as the third receiver, and he has averaged more touches per game than Justin Jefferson.

Osborn caught seven passes for 76 yards in Week 1, then followed that up with five catches for 91 yards and a touchdown last week. He has the trust of Kirk Cousins, and he is expected to be busy in a game with a high projected total.
