NFL Week 2 Parlays Picks & Predictions – NFL Play of the Day

Thanks for visiting The Game Day’s NFL wagers analysis. Please bookmark our new NFL Week 2 Parlays page.

While the first week of the season featured several exciting games with a few surprising results, it wasn’t a good week for our parlay picks, as we lost each of our three parlays.

However, parlay betting is a high variance venture, so you need to be able to take your losses because when you hit, the payout is much larger.

This week, we’ll look at the data we’ve gathered from Week 1 in conjunction with preseason projections to determine the best bets for Week 2. Let’s take a closer look at the best parlays in this NFL play of the day series.

Please note that all odds are current as of Friday, September 17.

Best NFL Parlays Week 2

NFL Week 2 Parlay Picks

  • Cleveland Browns -12.5 (-110) Spread at BetMGM (vs. Houston Texans)
  • Buffalo Bills -3.5 (-110) Spread at BetMGM (at Miami Dolphins)
  • Carolina Panthers +3.5 (-110) Spread at BetMGM (vs. New Orleans Saints)

Cleveland Browns -12.5 (-110) Spread

The Cleveland Browns are in a smash spot as 12.5-point home favorites against the Houston Texans. The Browns looked good against the Kansas City Chiefs, jumping out to a 22-10 lead before losing 33-29 because Patrick Mahomes and this high-octane offense is virtually unstoppable.

The Browns should be able to run all over a Texans defense that projects as one of the worst in football.

Houston’s blowout win says more about the Jacksonville Jaguars’ incompetence than it does about the Texans. The Browns should be able to win this game by more than two touchdowns.

Buffalo Bills -3.5 (-110) Spread

These NFL gameday odds are underestimating the Bills.

The Buffalo Bills are coming off a disappointing performance in a surprising home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Josh Allen was limited to only 5.29 yards per attempt on 51 passes, but I think this says more about the Steelers defense than it does about Allen.

This looks like a bounce-back spot on the road against the Miami Dolphins, who are riding high after a huge road win against the division rival New England Patriots.

When these two teams met in Miami last year, Allen threw for 415 yards and four touchdowns with an absurd 11.9 yards per attempt. The Bills are Super Bowl contenders for a reason and I expect them to get back on track here.

Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers RB, runs in Week 1 vs. the Jets

Carolina Panthers +3.5 (-110) Spread

The Carolina Panthers turned in an impressive performance in their 19-14 home win over the New York Jets. The Panthers have invested 11 draft picks into their defense in the last two years, including two first-rounders and two second-rounders.

We started to see signs of life here, as they limited the Jets to only 2.6 yards per carry and 6.97 yards per attempt with six sacks and one interception. They face the New Orleans Saints, who are coming off a surprising blowout win over the Packers.

This is a letdown spot for the Saints. Take the Panthers and the points as one of our best NFL bet of the day entries for Week 2.

NFL Week 2 Longshot Parlay Prediction

  • Cleveland Browns (-650) Moneyline at BetMGM (vs. Houston Texans)
  • Buffalo Bills (-175) Moneyline at BetMGM (at Miami Dolphins)
  • Denver Broncos (-275) Moneyline at BetMGM (at Jacksonville Jaguars)
  • Pittsburgh Steelers (-250) Moneyline at BetMGM (vs. Las Vegas Raiders)
  • Carolina Panthers +3.5 (-110) Spread at BetMGM (vs. New Orleans Saints)

We’ll start off the longshot parlay with moneyline picks on the Browns and Bills, just to make sure that we have a chance to win something if they win the game but do not cover the point spread.

The Broncos moneyline is also appealing, since the Jaguars are a complete dumpster fire right now, coming off an abysmal performance against the Texans.

I’ll keep the Panthers with the points because it’s a bit risky to take them to win outright, especially in this parlay that features several large moneyline favorites.

I don’t want this parlay to lose just because of the Panthers. The Steelers moneyline is the last addition because they were so impressive in shutting down one of the best passing attacks in the league in Josh Allen and the Bills.

The Raiders are coming to town off six days’ rest, riding high after a huge overtime win over the Ravens. Take the better team to win outright here.

Same-Game Parlay Pick Week 2

  • Pittsburgh Steelers -6.5 (-105) Spread at BetMGM (vs. Las Vegas Raiders)
  • Raiders/Steelers UNDER 47 (-110) Total at BetMGM

As I mentioned above, the Steelers impressed with the way they slowed down that Bills passing attack. The Raiders had an upset home win against the Ravens on Monday Night Football, but the Ravens really blew that game.

This Raiders defense showed an improved pass rush with Maxx Crosby, but they still gave up 179 combined rushing yards to Lamar Jackson, Ty’Son Williams, and Latavius Murray.

Expect Steelers rookie running back Najee Harris to have a big game in this one.

The Under looks appealing as well for two reasons: (1) The Steelers looked like an elite defense in Week 1 and (2) Harris should have his way on the ground, allowing the Steelers to slow the game down and eat the clock, resulting in fewer points.

I still think that the Raiders will be among the worst teams in the NFL, even with their surprising win over the Ravens, a team that many believed to be Super Bowl contenders. Lay the points with the Steelers and add in the under as well.
