NFL Power Rankings Week 2 – What Are the Latest Team Power Rankings 2021

Last Updated: Sep 14, 2021

Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season is in the books and there were certainly some fascinating outcomes. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers were blown out on a neutral field and the Buffalo Bills lost a tough one at home.

However, it’s important not to overreact too much from Week 1. With that in mind, here are the Week 2 NFL Power Rankings after the first week of games.

All playoff lines and odds used in this edition of our NFL power rankings series are provided via BetMGM Sportsbook.

NFL Power Rankings for Week 2

32. Jacksonville Jaguars

  • Playoffs Odds: +650
  • Super Bowl Odds: +25000

Getting blown out by the Texans in Week 1 is not the way Urban Meyer was hoping to start his NFL career as a head coach. Jacksonville appears to be several years away from competing in the AFC South. Trevor Lawrence also needs to play better if the Jaguars wanted to be more competitive in games this season.

31. New York Jets

  • Playoffs Odds: +900
  • Super Bowl Odds: +25000

Zach Wilson had his moments in Week 1, but the Jets are still a long way away from contending. However, the addition of Corey Davis already is proving to be a wise one by general manager Joe Douglas.

30. Houston Texans

  • Playoffs Odds: +700
  • Super Bowl Odds: +30000

The Texans are one of the oldest teams in the NFL, but they play hard. Their Week 1 win shows that they might not be as bad as everyone expects. Tyrod Taylor continues to show that he is a capable starter, and he should allow the Texans to get to 4-5 wins this season.

29. Atlanta Falcons

  • Playoffs Odds: +500
  • Super Bowl Odds: +8000

The Falcons were maybe the most disappointing team of Week 1. The Matt Ryan era in Atlanta appears to be coming to an end as his arm is noticeably weaker than in previous seasons. However, the offensive line did him no favors against the Eagles. If they don’t improve upfront, it doesn’t matter who the quarterback is in Atlanta.

28. Detroit Lions

  • Playoffs Odds: +900
  • Super Bowl Odds: +25000

Dan Campbell’s team isn’t all that talented, but they play hard. Jared Goff also wasn’t bad either despite a lack of weapons. Expect them to hang around in a bunch of games against much stronger teams this season.

27. New York Giants

  • Playoffs Odds: +400
  • Super Bowl Odds: +10000

The Giants have averaged just 14 points per game in their last seven outings. Daniel Jones isn’t getting better and the offensive line is among the worst in the league. That’s a bad combination.

26. Minnesota Vikings

  • Playoffs Odds: +190
  • Super Bowl Odds: +5000

It took overtime for the Bengals to beat the Vikings, but the miscues and penalties were overwhelming. Minnesota is much better than they showed in Week 1, but the offensive line and defense are troubling.

25. Carolina Panthers

  • Playoffs Odds: +210
  • Super Bowl Odds: +6600

The Panthers beat the Jets in Week 1, but it wasn’t a convincing victory. Carolina needs the offense to be more consistent if they want to be taken seriously in the NFC South. It’s still fair to be concerned about Sam Darnold, despite the 1-0 start.

24. Philadelphia Eagles

  • Playoffs Odds: +190
  • Super Bowl Odds: +6600

Jalen Hurts was excellent in Week 1, and the trenches dominated for the Eagles. It was an encouraging win for Philadelphia, which may become a contender in a weak NFC East. They might just have the best offensive line in the division, which will help keep them competitive.

23. Chicago Bears

  • Playoffs Odds: +300
  • Super Bowl Odds: +8000

Chicago’s defense is competent, but the offense is not. It’s only a matter of time before Justin Fields is the starter for the Bears. Until then, this could be tough to watch. Andy Dalton is just too far past his prime.

22. Cincinnati Bengals

  • Playoffs Odds: +400
  • Super Bowl Odds: +15000

Joe Burrow instantly makes the Bengals a contender as we saw in Week 1. Cincinnati should have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL with Ja’Marr Chase playing like a No. 5 overall pick should. They are still a year away, but the Bengals are trending upward.

21. Indianapolis Colts

  • Playoffs Odds: +130
  • Super Bowl Odds: +4000

The Colts did not play well in Week 1, but Indianapolis is clearly talented. Carson Wentz was fine in his debut with the team, which is an encouraging sign. However, the Colts will need the defense to play better to compete in the AFC.

20. Las Vegas Raiders

  • Playoffs Odds: +300
  • Super Bowl Odds: +5000

The Raiders pulled off an upset win in Week 1, but the defense is still a bit of a concern. But the biggest issue is if the Raiders can finish strong after hot starts in three straight seasons. We will learn a lot about this Las Vegas team in Week 2 as they travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers.

19. Washington Football Team

  • Playoffs Odds: +190
  • Super Bowl Odds: +6600

The quarterback position continues to haunt Washington, but the defense is strong enough to keep them in contention in the NFC East. Can the Football Team survive with Ryan Fitzpatrick set to miss the next 6-to-8 weeks?

18. Denver Broncos

  • Playoffs Odds: -120
  • Super Bowl Odds: +5000

Teddy Bridgewater was confident and accurate in Week 1, and that’s exactly what Denver needs at quarterback. Denver is trending in the right direction after a masterful win versus New York. However, the offense could be in some trouble with Jerry Jeudy set to miss at least a month with a high-ankle sprain.

17. Tennessee Titans

  • Playoffs Odds: -125
  • Super Bowl Odds: +3000

Yes, the Titans looked bad in Week 1. But Tennessee usually gets stronger as the season goes on. Don’t count out the Titans just yet as both Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry thrive in November and December.

16. New England Patriots

  • Playoffs Odds: +125
  • Super Bowl Odds: +3500

A Damien Harris fumble caused the Patriots to slip up in Week 1. But New England should feel good about Mac Jones and his future. With their defense, New England is going to be in just about every game this season.

Betting Tip: The Patriots are still a plus value to make the playoffs, and that feels likely, despite their Week 1 loss. Their defense should keep them competitive and in the playoff hunt in the AFC.

15. Miami Dolphins

  • Playoffs Odds: -150
  • Super Bowl Odds: +4000

The offense is still a major question mark for Miami, but the Dolphins are finding ways to win games with their defense. If Tua Tagovailoa can cut down on the turnovers and just stay out of the way, Miami should be a playoff team.

14. Arizona Cardinals

  • Playoffs Odds: +100
  • Super Bowl Odds: +3000

Kyler Murray was phenomenal in Week 1, and that’s a great sign for the Cardinals going forward. Arizona looks like a much more improved and balanced team so far this season. Even in a crowded NFC West, the Cardinals show they belong in the playoff mix.

13. Dallas Cowboys

  • Playoffs Odds: -120
  • Super Bowl Odds: +3500

Dallas just needed to make a play or two more to beat the Buccaneers, but that didn’t happen. Still, fans should be optimistic after a great start by Dak Prescott and the offense. The Cowboys should average over 30 points per game this season, even with Michael Gallup (injury) and La’el Collins (suspension) set to miss time.

12. Baltimore Ravens

  • Playoffs Odds: -125
  • Super Bowl Odds: +1600

The Ravens were up 14-0 on the Raiders, but blew a game they should have won. Lamar Jackson did not play well, but neither did his offensive line. Baltimore is still talented and will be heard from in the AFC, assuming they can solve their blocking issues up front.

11. San Francisco 49ers

  • Playoffs Odds: -225
  • Super Bowl Odds: +1300

The 49ers dominated the Lions, but let their foot off the gas late in the game. If Kyle Shanahan can figure out the quarterback position, San Francisco will shoot up these rankings. This is one of the most dangerous teams in the NFC.

10. New Orleans Saints

  • Playoffs Odds: -175
  • Super Bowl Odds: +2500

Nobody had a more impressive Week 1 win than the Saints. Jameis Winston played one of the best games of his career and looks comfortable in this offense. New Orleans looks ready to make another run in the NFC under Sean Payton.

9. Los Angeles Chargers

  • Playoffs Odds: -140
  • Super Bowl Odds: +2500

The Chargers passed their first test of the season, beating a playoff team on the road. The offensive looks improved, which is a great sign for Justin Herbert this year. The bigger storyline for the Chargers is the return of safety Derwin James, who played every snap on defense in Week 1. When healthy, he might just be the best defensive back in the NFL.

8. Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Playoffs Odds: +110
  • Super Bowl Odds: +3000

The Steelers have a dominating defense, but the offense is a problem. Ben Roethlisberger continues to show his age, and the offensive line is a mess. But a strong Week 1 win over the Bills with a herculean defensive effort moves them up in our rankings.

Betting Tip: Take the Steelers +110 to make the playoffs. Their early-season schedule is easy, and they should be able to get off to a fast start. Wrapping the regular season with 10-to-11 wins feels right considering the caliber of their defense.

7. Green Bay Packers

  • Playoffs Odds: -250
  • Super Bowl Odds: +1400

Aaron Rodgers played one of the worst games of his career in Week 1. But expect him to knock off the rust this week and get the Packers back on track. The Packers will be fine, especially once they figure out their offensive line.

6. Buffalo Bills

  • Playoffs Odds: -300
  • Super Bowl Odds: +1300

Buffalo outgained Pittsburgh in Week 1 by over 100 yards. But a blocked punt was the difference. The Bills are still a legit contender, but they must clean up the turnovers and penalties. Josh Allen needs to become more consistent and find ways to win against good teams for Buffalo to take the next step.

5. Seattle Seahawks

  • Playoffs Odds: -200
  • Super Bowl Odds: +1800

Seattle has allowed just 14 points per game in their last seven contests as they dominated the Colts in Week 1. Russell Wilson is playing like an elite quarterback once again and is finally in an offense that will let him cook. Is this the year Wilson finally gets his first-ever MVP vote?

Betting Tip: If you are looking for a darkhorse Super Bowl team, Seattle might be it — so make them your NFL bet of the day. 18-1 odds are pretty good for a team that has never won fewer than nine games with Wilson under center.

4. Cleveland Browns

  • Playoffs Odds: -175
  • Super Bowl Odds: +1600

Cleveland lost in Week 1, but they were impressive. Baker Mayfield played one of the best games of his career as he looks confident and comfortable in this offense. Once Odell Beckham Jr. returns to the lineup, the Browns will be tough to stop on offense.

3. Los Angeles Rams

  • Playoffs Odds: -250
  • Super Bowl Odds: +1200

Matthew Stafford couldn’t have had a better start with the Rams. Los Angeles has all the makings of a legit contender in the NFC with a high-powered offense and a fast defense. This might be the only team in the NFC that could actually knock off the Bucs in the playoffs.

2. Kansas City Chiefs

  • Playoffs Odds: -1000
  • Super Bowl Odds: +475

The Chiefs opened the season with a difficult but impressive win over the Browns. It’s hard to see anyone knocking them off as the best team in the AFC this year with Patrick Mahomes continuing to play like one of the best quarterbacks of all time. Kansas City’s offensive line also looks improved, and that is a scary thought for the rest of the league.

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  • Playoffs Odds: -900
  • Super Bowl Odds: +600

Tampa Bay’s offense looks better than ever with Antonio Brown quickly developing into Tom Brady’s No. 1 receiver. It doesn’t appear anyone else in the NFC is even close to as talented or as well-coached as the Buccaneers.
