The Jets aren’t expected to go anywhere with a rookie head coach and rookie quarterback next season. And although the league added on an extra game, it is hard to see this team eclipsing seven wins in 2021.

New York has some promising pieces in Wilson, Corey Davis, Mehki Becton, Denzel Mims, Jamison Crowder, Carl Lawson, Marcus Maye and Quinnen Williams, but is that enough to contend in a highly competitive AFC East? Most likely not.

A lot will be riding on how this group responds in Saleh’s system. There is obviously the chance that they could surprise everyone, especially if their rookie signal caller lights the league on fire. But the realistic bet would be to anticipate them winning under 6.5 games.

Jets Prop Bets 2021: Player Bet Picks

Zach Wilson Under 3,850.5 Passing Yards (-112)

It’s the beginning of a new era in Florham Park, as the New York Jets will have a new head coach and quarterback when they take the field for the first time in Week 1. The Jets hired highly-touted San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh to be their leading man, and then proceeded to draft BYU quarterback Zach Wilson with the No. 2 overall pick.

With a ton of hype surrounding Wilson, he could surprise the NFL world given his star potential. But it’d be unfair to have these expectations for a first-year quarterback on an otherwise lackluster roster.

The expectations are relatively low for the Jets this season, and Wilson deserves time to grow and develop in the NFL. The safe pick would be to go with the under at (-112) odds, as Wilson cannot be expected to throw for over 3,850.5 yards in his first season.

Corey Davis Over 850.5 Receiving Yards (-124)

One of New York’s biggest moves of the offseason was signing free agent wideout Corey Davis to a three-year, $27 million deal. While Davis wasn’t exactly the flashiest of signings, he has been steady in his four-year NFL career.

Davis has recorded over 850 receiving yards twice as a pro, and both times came when he was targeted over 90 times. His best season was in 2020, where he recorded 65 receptions for 984 yards and four touchdowns.

Although Davis will be playing with a rookie quarterback in Wilson, as long as he gets his fair share of balls thrown his way, he should have no problem exceeding the 850.5-yard mark.
