Iga Świątek has claimed two of the last three French Open titles. However, after a loss to Aryna Sabalenka in Madrid and a retirement against Elena Rybakina in Rome, there’s just the slightest skepticism brewing here that the World No. 1 will continue to dominate the tour.
Might a challenger be waiting in the wings?
Let’s break down the best ways to bet on Roland Garros this year.
French Open Women’s Winner Prediction
Aryna Sabalenka (+700) • FanDuel Sportsbook
You can feel the confidence growing with each passing month. Sabalenka’s serve and powerful groundstrokes make her the most dangerous player in the world when she’s focused and able to hone in her skills, and it seems like she’s firing on all cylinders right now.
Sabalenka finally broke through with a win at the Australian Open and she also conquered Świątek on the clay at the WTA 1000 event in Madrid, making her a strong challenger. With Świątek running cold and dealing with a minor injury, I think this is a rare year out of the winner’s circle for her.
French Open Women’s Contenders
French Open winner betting lines were found at FanDuel Sportsbook and are fresh as of Friday, May 26 at 4:00 p.m. ET.
See how the leaders in French Open women’s odds stack up:
- Iga Świątek (-140)
- Aryna Sabalenka (+700)
- Elena Rybakina (+700)
- Barbora Krejčíková (+2100)
- Jeļena Ostapenko (+2500)
- Ons Jabeur (+3100)
- Coco Gauff (+3100)
- Marketa Vondrousova (+3100)
- Jess Pegula (+4000)
- Maria Sakkari (+4200)
You won’t find many surprises here; Świątek, Sabalenka and Rybakina are the three clear best players in the world and the gap between them and the rest of the pack is sizable.
Two former French Open champions in Barbora Krejčíková and Jeļena Ostapenko follow those names, and then some of the most talented players in the world who simply enter this tournament in poor form.
French Open Women’s Best Bet

Well, the coast is clear for Sabalenka with Świątek sitting on the other half of the Roland Garros draw this year. Without the World No. 1 in the way, she will be licking her chops at a very weak quarter which could only truly be stolen by French No. 1 Caroline Garcia.
Maria Sakkari lurks in the other quarter, but if you want to lay out the biggest threats to Sabalenka here given her season to this point – which has seen her go 29-5 with titles at the Australian Open and in Madrid – they’re both in the top half here.
Make her your best tennis bet to win this tournament. I’d even expect her to beat Świątek at this point should they meet in the final given she was able to exorcize her big-match demons in Australia this year.
French Open Women’s Sleeper Bet
Maria Sakkari (+5000) • PointsBet Sportsbook

The Tony Finau of the WTA Tour, Sakkari has only won one main-draw tournament in her long career. It’s still hard to say she’s not one of the 10 best clay-courters in the world.
Seeing as she won’t have to face Świątek, Rybakina or Sabalenka until the semifinals at the earliest, I think she’s a strong dart to throw.
Sakkari also isn’t really running quite that cold following a semifinal appearance in Madrid and a tough loss to Marketa Vondrousova in Rome which ended in a retirement. Assuming she’s recovered from that minor impingement, I love her opportunity and prioritizing her in my French Open betting.
