Bruins vs Panthers Predictions & Best Bets

Last Updated: Apr 29, 2023

For the second-consecutive game, the Florida Panthers avoided elimination and have now evened up their series against the Boston Bruins thanks to a thrilling 7-5 victory on home ice.

The series now shifts back to Beantown for Game 7 with all the pressure mounting on the Presidents’ Trophy winners, who are in danger of blowing a 3-1 series lead.

Below, you’ll find game odds, predictions, and best bets ahead of a “winner take all” matchup between the Bruins and Panthers.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 7 Odds

NHL odds used for these best bets are current as of Saturday, April 29 at 11:00 a.m. ET and were found at DraftKings Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Bruins (-230) • Panthers (+195)
  • Puck Line: Bruins -1.5 (+105) • Panthers +1.5 (-125)
  • Total Goals Scored: Over 6.0 (-120) • Under 6.0 (+100)

Bruins vs Panthers Game 7 Prediction

Bruins 3, Panthers 2

The Boston Bruins were an absolute wagon throughout the 2022-23 campaign, setting new NHL records in both wins in a season (65) and points (135) in a single season.

Fast forward two weeks and Boston is now on the brink of elimination after dropping Games 5 and 6 to the Florida Panthers.

Thankfully for Bruins fans, they’ll get one more kick at the can in a winner-take-all game, and Boston will take full advantage.

Heading into Game 7, the Bruins rank fifth in the postseason in Shot Attempts (Corsi %), fourth in the playoffs in Goals-for Above Expected, and third in Expected Goals-Against (Per Money Puck). The Bruins have been the better team over the first six games of this series and should be able to pull out a victory on home ice in Game 7.

Florida has had an incredible run up to this point, but I think they finally fall short in Game 7. Look for the Bruins to eke out a nail-biter and advance to Round 2.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 7 Best Bets

Panthers +1.5 (-125) • DraftKings Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

For this bet to cash, we need the Panthers to win by any margin, something they’ve done three times already this series, or lose by less than two goals.

Given how well the Cats have played in this series, combined with the fair price point, we’ll target Florida against the spread as our NHL bet of the day.

The Panthers have been able to go punch for punch with one of the best teams in the NHL thus far this series due in large part to their fantastic offensive output, which sees them ranked second in Expected Goals-for and fourth in Shooting percentage on shots on goal (Per Money Puck).

Florida can score at will and can certainly give the Bruins headaches as we’ve seen over the course of the first six games this series.

Although I still like the Bruins to prevail, the Cats will keep it close and give Boston a real scare in Game 7.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 6 Preview

The Florida Panthers are still alive in the Stanley Cup Playoffs thanks to a dramatic 4-3 overtime victory over the Boston Bruins on Wednesday.

The series now switches back to Florida for Game 6, where the Cats will look to even up the series at three games apiece and hopefully force Game 7.

Below, you’ll find game odds, predictions, and best bets in what has been an enthralling series between the Bruins and Panthers thus far. Let’s dive in and meet our plays.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 6 Odds

NHL betting lines used for these best bets are current as of Thursday, April 27, at 5:00 p.m. ET and were found at DraftKings Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Bruins (-175) • Panthers (+150)
  • Puck Line: Bruins -1.5 (+145) • Panthers +1.5 (-170)
  • Total Goals Scored: Over 6 (-120) • Under 6 (+100)

Bruins vs Panthers Game 6 Prediction

Bruins 3, Panthers 2

After dropping Game 5 on home ice, the Bruins will now travel for Game 6 in Florida, where they’ll get a second crack at eliminating the Panthers.

The good news for the Bruins is that they’ve already won two games at FLA Live Arena this series, scoring 10 goals and conceding only four. More importantly, Boston has looked confident on the road all season long, posting a league-best 31-8-2 (.756) record.

With a second chance to finish off the Cats, look for the Bruins to put on a defensive clinic, having ranked first in the NHL in Goals-against and third in expected goals-against (Per Natural Stat Trick) during the regular season. This team has constantly responded when facing adversity, and I’m expecting more of the same in Game 6.

The Panthers have given the Bruins all they could handle through five games, but the Bruins will end their season on Friday night. Look for the Bruins to keep it close and ultimately punch their ticket to Round 2.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 6 Best Bet

Bruins ML (3-Way, Excluding OT) (-110) • DraftKings Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Lost in the shuffle of the Game 5 hoop-la was the return of Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron to the Bruins lineup from injury.

In addition, David Krejčí (lower body) is traveling with the team to Florida for Game 6.

Both Krejci and Bergeron have provided the Bruins with stability down the middle, solid two-way play, and much-needed experience in critical junctures for the Stanley Cup Playoffs alongside Charlie Coyle.

Bruins netminder Linus Ullmark will also want to bounce back after a tough outing in Game 5 that saw him allow four goals on just 25 shots with an abysmal .840 save percentage.

This series won’t head to overtime for the second-consecutive game – nor will it go 7. For those reasons, target the Bruins in regulation at a decent price point for our top hockey bet.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 5 Preview

No David Krejčí. No Patrice Bergeron. No problem for the Boston Bruins who cruised to a 6-2 victory on Sunday against the Florida Panthers en route to a sizable 3-1 series lead.

After playing some excellent hockey down the stretch to get into the postseason, the Panthers now find themselves on the brink of elimination heading back to Beantown for Game 5.

Below, we’ll examine some game odds, predictions, and best bets for the Bruins and Panthers Game 5 matchup. Let’s read on and meet our plays.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 5 Odds

NHL lines used for these best bets are current as of Tuesday, April 25, at 7:00 a.m. ET, and were found at DraftKings Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Bruins (-240) • Panthers (+200)
  • Puck Line: Bruins -1.5 (+110) • Panthers +1.5 (-130)
  • Total Goals Scored: Over 6 (-120) • Under 6 (+100)

Bruins vs Panthers Game 5 Prediction

Bruins 4, Panthers 1

After dropping both games on home ice, the Panthers find themselves in a massive hole against the Presidents’ Trophy winners

Despite the absence of both Krejčí and Bergeron, the Bruins have shown throughout this series that they can roll four lines, receive depth scoring, and win in any fashion, which spells trouble for the Cats.

The switch in goal from Alex Lyon to Sergei Bobrovky for Florida had little effect, as Bobrovsky posted a pitiful 5.54 goals-against average and .846 save percentage.

Bruins forward Taylor Hall is on an absolute heater in the absence of his top-two centerman, having scored four goals and seven points to go along with 17 total shot attempts and five takeaways (per Hockey Reference).

The Cats had a nice run getting into the dance, but their luck runs out here. Look for the Bruins to roll into the second round with a commanding victory in Game 5 at home.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 5 Best Bets

Bruins -1.5 (+110) • DraftKings Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

It’s never easy betting the puck line in the Stanley Cup playoffs because you never really know how a game is going to unfold. Having said that, the Bruins enter Game 5 in an excellent smash spot with the Panthers on the brink of elimination.

The B’s dominated Game 4 from start to finish both on the ice and in the advanced-metric department. Boston logged a whopping 62.5 percent High-Danger scoring chances, 1.45 Expected-Goals against, and 62.04 Expected-Goals percentage (Per Natural Stat Trick), easily asserting their will on the Panthers.

I have no concrete basis to suggest anything will change heading into Wednesday evening.

Boston is the far superior team here and should be able to take care of the Panthers at the TD Garden to avoid a Game 6. For this reason, we’ll target the Bruins at plus-money, and make it our NHL pick today.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 4 Preview

It was business as usual for the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Boston Bruins, who marched into Sunrise, Fla, and cruised to a 4-2 victory taking a 2-1 series lead over the Florida Panthers in Game 3.

Now, the stage is set for a crucial Game 4 matchup, as the Bruins look to force the Cats to the brink of elimination.

In this article, we’ll take a look at some game odds, predictions, and best bets between Boston and Florida. Let’s read on and meet our plays.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 4 Odds

NHL lines used for these best bets are current as of Saturday, April 22, at 11:00 a.m. ET and were found at DraftKings Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Bruins (-150) • Panthers (+130)
  • Puck Line: Bruins -1.5 (+175) • Panthers +1.5 (-205)
  • Total Goals Scored: Over 6 (-120) • Under 6 (+100)

Bruins vs Panthers Game 4 Prediction

Bruins 3, Panthers 2

The Bruins scored early and often in Game 3, neutralizing Florida’s offensive threats and taking the home crowd right out of the game.

With upper-body injuries sidelining future Hall of Fame captain Patrice Bergeron (upper body) and David Krejčí, the Bruins relied on their depth to get the job done: Charlie Coyle, David Pastrňák, Taylor Hall, and Nick Foligno found the scoresheet.

The B’s have been defensive stalwarts all season long, ranking first in the NHL across a wide variety of defensive metrics such as Goals-against, goal differential, and goals against above replacement (Per MoneyPuck). Simply put, when the game is on the line, the Bruins lock it down among the best in hockey.

Look for Boston to win a close contest and return to Beantown for Game 5, up 3-1 in this series.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 4 Best Bets

Under 6 Total Goals (+100) • DraftKings Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Given the overall magnitude of this game, we’ll target the Under on a single-unit wager between the Bruins and Panthers at plus money.

In a game that saw the Bruins face the most adversity they’ve encountered all season long, Boston rose to the challenge by playing a near-perfect road game.

Prior to the Cats scoring a pair of goals in “garbage time,” Florida managed an abysmal 1.32 xGF through 40 minutes (Per NaturalStatTrick). What was even more impressive is they kept Florida’sbiggest threat and two-time 100-point scorer Matthew Tkachuk off the scoresheet.

In such a critical contest, I’m anticipating an uneventful, highly-contested clash, making this our NHL bet of the day.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 3 Preview

The Florida Panthers bounced back in a big way in Game 2, evening up their series against the Boston Bruins at one game apiece after a commanding 6-3 victory.

The series now shifts to Sunrise, Fla., for Games 3 and 4, in what’s been a very physical, competitive, and entertaining matchup between two Atlantic Division foes.

Let’s dive into some game odds, predictions, and best bets ahead of this marquee encounter in Game 3 between the Bruins and Panthers.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 3 Odds

NHL odds used for these best bets are current as of Thursday, April 20 at 4:30 p.m. ET and were found at DraftKings Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Bruins (-155) • Panthers (+135)
  • Puck Line: Bruins -1.5 (+175) • Panthers +1.5 (-205)
  • Total Goals Scored: Over 6.0 (-120) • Under 6.0 (+100)

Bruins vs Panthers Game 3 Prediction

Bruins 3, Panthers 2

It’s back to the drawing board for the Bruins, who find themselves in a fairly unfamiliar spot having lost just 12 games in regulation during the 2022-23 campaign.

With team captain Patrice Bergeron (lower-body injury) still uncertain to suit up for Friday’s matchup, Boston will need to make some adjustments if they are to win Game 3.

For starters, Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark had a poor game in Game 2, allowing five goals on just 29 shots posting an .828 save percentage. During the regular season, Ullmark ranked third in the NHL in FSv% and GSAx (Per EvolvingHockey) and now finds himself in the perfect bounce-back spot on the road in Florida.

Look for a much more complete effort from Boston en route to a narrow victory in Game 3.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 3 Best Bets

Brad Marchand: Over 2.5 SOG (-130) • DraftKings Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

For our Bruins and Panthers best bet, we’ll target one of Boston’s most utilized and talented forwards on a single-unit wager.

Brad Marchand is riding a hot stick registered two goals and four shots on goals in both Games 1 and 2 with 11 total shot attempts (5.5/game).

The regular season saw Marchand post an impressive 61.1 CF% (per Hockey Reference).

This statistic tells you that when Marchand is on the ice, his team possesses the puck 61.1% of the time. This is a player who’s always around the puck, plays in all situations, and will be leaned on heavily in all situations on Friday night.

For these reasons, Marchand hitting his shot prop is our NHL bet of the day.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 2 Preview

The President’s Trophy-winning Boston Bruins continued their winning ways Monday in their Stanley Cup Playoffs opener, defeating the Florida Panthers by a score of 3-1. The B’s now carry a 1-0 series lead heading into Game 2.

Will the Bruins extend their series lead? Or will the Panthers even it up before heading back to Sunrise?

Let’s find out by examining some game odds, predictions, and my favorite best bets for Bruins vs Panthers.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 2 Odds

NHL odds used for these best bets are current as of Tuesday, April 18, at 5:00 p.m. ET and were found at DraftKings Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Bruins (-245) • Panthers (+205)
  • Puck Line: Bruins -1.5 (+115) • Panthers +1.5 (-135)
  • Total Goals Scored: Over 6.5 (+105) • Under 6.5 (-125)

Bruins vs Panthers Game 2 Prediction

Bruins 3, Panthers 0

The Bruins’ speed, depth, physicality, and forecheck were simply too much to handle for the Panthers in Game 1.

Given the consistency in their playing style and their home domination this season (34-4-3), the Bruins should continue this blazing performance for Game 2.

Despite the absence of Patrice Bergeron (upper body/illness), the Bruins received valuable contributions from the likes of Tyler Bertuzzi, David Pastrňák, Brad Marchand, and Jake DeBrusk, backstopped by the brilliance of Linus Ullmark in goal.

With or without Bergeron, whose playing status remains questionable, the Bruins will cruise to victory in Game 2.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 2 Best Bets

Under 6.5 Total Goals (-125) • DraftKings Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

We’ll target the Under for our best bet between the Bruins and Panthers on a single-unit wager after Boston’s masterful defensive display in Game 1.

Never underestimate the value that comes from locking in a favorable bet early before prospective markets and sportsbooks make adjustments prior to puck drop.

Metrically speaking, the Bruins are one of the best defensive teams in hockey.

Boston ranked first in the NHL in GA/60, goal-differential/60, and Sv% (Per EvolvingHockey).

This team is the epitome of defensive structure and should continue to make life difficult for Florida’s talented forward core that includes Aleksander Barkov, Matthew Tkachuk, and Carter Verhaeghe.

Despite Florida’s recent string of success that propelled them into the playoffs, they’ll struggle to score goals and enjoy any type of sustained success all series long. For this reason, the Under between the Bruins and Panthers is our NHL bet of the day.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 1 Preview

The Stanley Cup Playoffs begin this evening with the Boston Bruins playing host to the Florida Panthers in Game 1 of their best-of-seven series.

In this article, I’ll provide a comprehensive analysis of Game 1 odds, predictions, and some of my favorite best bets in what promises to be a terrific matchup in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Let’s dive in and see our plays between the Bruins and Panthers.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 1 Odds

NHL lines used for Game 1 best bets are current as of Monday, April 17, at 10 a.m. ET and were found at DraftKings Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Bruins (-225) • Panthers (+190)
  • Puck Line: Bruins -1.5 (+125) • Panthers +1.5 (-145)
  • Total Goals Scored: Over 6.0 (-125) • Under 6.0 (+105)

Bruins vs Panthers Game 1 Prediction

Bruins 3, Panthers 1

Not surprisingly, the Bruins enter Game 1 as heavy moneyline favorites (-225).

After stringing together one of the single-best regular seasons in NHL history, Boston will be eager to get that first playoff win under their belt.

At the moment, captain Patrice Bergeron remains questionable, which will force Boston head coach Jim Montgomery to make a few lineup adjustments.

That said, Boston is still the superior team and one of the best defensive teams in the NHL ranking first in key defensive metrics such as goals-against and goals-against above replacement (Per MoneyPuck), which should limit Florida’s high-octane offense.

I think the Bruins roll in this one.

Bruins vs Panthers Game 1 Best Bets

David Krejčí Over 0.5 Points (-120) • DraftKings Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Bruins centerman David Krejčí sat out for the entirety of the 2021-22 NHL campaign but enjoyed a renaissance-type return this season in Boston.

In 70 games and at age 36, Krejčí scored 16 goals and 56 points to go along with a plus-23 rating in 17:12 TOI. He also ranked fourth on the B’s in Points/60 and shooting percentage (per MoneyPuck).

Like a fine wine, Krejčí just continues to produce, and should play a prominent role in the Bruins offense with Bergeron questionable for Game 1. For these reasons, I feel confident laying a single-unit wager on Krejčí hitting his point prop.

Bruins vs Panthers Series Preview

After a record-breaking 2022-23 regular season that saw the Boston Bruins post an astonishing 65-12-5 record, their focus now shifts to the NHL Playoffs where they’ll meet the Florida Panthers in Round 1.

In this article, you’ll find series odds, predictions, and my favorite best bets ahead of this terrific matchup between the Bruins and Panthers.

Bruins vs Panthers Series Odds

To Win Series: Boston Bruins (-320) • Florida Panthers (+250)

It’s no surprise that the Bruins are heavy favorites in this series, given how they’ve been one of the most consistent and dominant teams across the North American sports landscape this year.

The Bruins are deep, talented, extremely well-coached, and have the top-end experience required to go on a deep run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this spring with the likes of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, and David Pastrňák.

NHL betting lines used for these best bets are current as of Sunday, April 16, at 5 p.m. ET and were found at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Bruins vs Panthers Series Prediction

Bruins Wins 4-1

The Bruins have been nothing short of spectacular this season, amassing 135 points en route to the President’s Trophy as the NHL’s top team.

Despite having played some excellent hockey of late, the Panthers will be in tough against a Boston team that ranks second in hockey in goals-for and first in both goals-against and penalty-killing efficiency (Per MoneyPuck).

Based on the remarkable analytical metrics and on-ice product the Bruins have employed this season, I don’t foresee a scenario in which Boston doesn’t cruise into the second round.

Bruins vs Panthers Series Best Bets

Series Spread: Boston Bruins -1.5 (-145) • DraftKings Sportsbook

WAGER: 2 Units

I’m taking a fairly conservative approach to my best bet and will opt with the Bruins advancing by a series spread of -1.5 games. This allows you to win your bet if the Bruins win 4-2, 4-1, or 4-0 providing variance and flexibility in your wager at a reasonable price point.

Barring a significant injury, or unforeseen reversal of fortune, look for the B’s to make quick work of the Panthers in their Round 1 matchup. For these reasons, I’m confident laying a two-unit wager on the Bruins in this smash spot as my NHL pick of the day.
