Ravens vs Titans Predictions & Best Bets

Last Updated: Oct 11, 2023

For the third consecutive week, Sunday football starts at 9:30 a.m. ET in London, with the Ravens and Titans playing in a game with a slight spread and a low total.

The stage is set for a slugfest between teams that have been inconsistent through the first five weeks of the regular season.

Let’s look at how these AFC foes stack up and detail the best betting selections for this contest.

Ravens vs Titans Odds

NFL odds used for this Baltimore vs Tennessee preview were found at Caesars Sportsbook and are current as of October 11 at 1 a.m. ET.

  • Moneyline: Ravens (-205) • Titans (+170)
  • Spread: Ravens -4 (-110) • Titans +4 (-110)
  • Total Points: Over 41 (-110) • Under 41 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Favorite 22.5, Underdog 18.5

Ravens vs Titans Predictions

Score Pick: Ravens 20, Titans 17

The Ravens have a tough defense and an inconsistent offense. Baltimore is averaging only 21.8 points per game, but their median output is 25 this year. However, they’ve held opponents to only 15 points per game, with a median of 17.

The Titans have held their opponents to 18.6 points per game, with a less impressive median of 23. Moreover, Tennessee’s offense has averaged just 17.6 points per game with a median of 16, which isn’t pretty.

Defense-adjusted value over average (DVOA) paints a starker advantage for the Ravens. According to FTN Fantasy, Baltimore is seventh in total DVOA, 11th in offense DVOA, and second in defense DVOA versus 22nd, 22nd, and 20th, respectively, for Tennessee.

Finally, the Ravens have a marked advantage at the most critical position: quarterback. According to Pro Football Reference, Lamar Jackson is 14th in QBR (56.6) this season, and Ryan Tannehill is 31st in QBR (37.1) among qualified quarterbacks.

Ravens vs Titans Best Bets & Props

Titans Under 18.5 (-110)

Caesars Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

The Titans are on the struggle bus offensively. They’ve fallen short of 18.5 points in three of five contests.

Tennessee’s pace and the matchup are also ideal for betting the Under on the team total. According to RotoViz’s pace app, the Titans are playing at the fourth-slowest pace in neutral game scripts this season.

Baltimore’s defense is outstanding, too, allowing 15 points per game and holding three of its opponents to fewer than 18.5 points. As a result, this is the NFL bet of the day.

Under 41 (-110)

Caesars Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

The defenses are the strengths of both teams. Four of Baltimore’s games have gone Under this season, and four of Tennessee’s contests have gone Under, too.

The scoring in London has been mediocre for each team playing their first game overseas this year. The Jaguars scored 23 and the Falcons scored seven points in Week 4, and the Bills scored 20 in Week 5.

Lamar Jackson Over 42.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

Caesars Sportsbook • WAGER: 0.5 units

Jackson has been his typical dynamic self as a runner. He’s averaging 53 rushing yards per game, with a median of 45.

In addition, new offensive coordinator Todd Monken hasn’t abandoned using Jackson on designed runs. Per The 33rd Football Team, in five games, Jackson has had two, five, 10, five, and three designed runs, respectively.

The Ravens should pass more often on Sunday, which is actually optimal for Jackson’s rushing outlook. Baltimore has a 50% pass rate in neutral game scripts this year, but Tennessee’s opponents have passed on 59% of their plays in a neutral game script.

Per Pro-Football-Reference, Jackson has averaged six yards per scramble, higher than his overall average of 5.6 yards per carry this season. So, more dropbacks should result in more scrambles. Ergo, Jackson’s rushing potential is elevated by more pass attempts.

Ravens vs Titans Same-Game Parlay

Ravens vs Titans SGP (+370)

Caesars Sportsbook • WAGER: 0.25 units

  • Ravens (-205)
  • Under 41 (-110)
  • Lamar Jackson Over 42.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

The projected score above would leave the Ravens shy of covering the spread. Therefore, taking Baltimore’s moneyline is more inviting.

They rank higher than the Titans in DVOA across the board. Baltimore has also done better in scoring offense and defense than Tennessee.

The final two legs of the same-game parlay (SGP) were analyzed above and rounded this out to produce a tasty line of +370 at Caesars Sportsbook.
