The NFL preseason churns along after a Week 1 slate that saw most teams deploy few of their regular starters. While more veterans should play in Week 2, it’s still unlikely that most of them see significant time on the field.
Let’s dig into the wagering side of things for a matchup between the Giants and Panthers.

Panthers vs Giants Predictions
Score Pick: Giants 20, Panthers 13
The Giants didn’t use many of their starters in their first preseason game. Daniel Jones didn’t play at all, while his primary backup Tyrod Taylor saw little action.
They were led by Tommy DeVito, who completed 15-of-24 passes for 155 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Their special teams let them down in their 21-16 defeat to the Lions, allowing a punt return for a touchdown.
While the Giants’ offense didn’t look great in their opener, the Panthers were even worse in their 27-0 loss to the Jets. Bryce Young did take the field, but only attempted six passes in the defeat.
They were destroyed on the ground, allowing 141 yards on 37 carries. We could see more of both team’s starters in their second preseason game, so look for both sides to produce more offense.
Panthers vs Giants Best Bets & Props
Giants (-162)
DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit
I’m taking the Giants moneyline. If not for their special teams blunder, the Giants would have defeated the Lions. They have one of the more reliable kickers in football in Graham Gano, who drilled three field goals of over 40 yards each in that matchup.
Veteran receivers Adam Thielen and D.J. Chark likely won’t play much again for the Panthers, leaving Young without his top two pass-catching options. While points might be at a premium for both sides, look for the Giants to produce enough offense to earn the victory.
Winning Margin: Giants by 1-13 Points (+155)

There is plenty of juice that comes with taking the Giants on the moneyline. A way to get some action on them winning at plus-odds is to go with this wager.
The Panthers aren’t likely to get shut out again, and with the Giants likely to lean heavily on DeVito, it’s difficult to see them putting up enough points to win by at least two touchdowns.
Under 39 (-110)

It can only go up for the Panthers on offense. Don’t expect to see much, if any, of veteran Andy Dalton under center.
Look for them to possibly give more work to Young, with Matt Corral potentially set up for a heavy workload again. Those two could be in trouble against a Giants defense that likes to blitz early and often.
Jones might make his debut for the Giants, but even if he does, don’t expect him to play a ton. The Giants also showed last week that they want to give DeVito a long look, especially since Taylor has nothing left to prove as Jones’ top backup.
DeVito manning the quarterback position again leaves the Giants’ offense with limited upside, making this our NFL bet of the day.
