The Seattle Seahawks busted out of the gates last year, going a perfect 5-0 and averaging 33.8 points per game before their bye week. They promptly lost three of four after the bye, however, and their prolific offense tailed off during the second half as they became too conventional and run-heavy. While they finished the regular season at 12-4 — their best record since 2014 — they were bounced from the playoffs in embarrassing fashion by an inferior Rams team during Wild Card Weekend.

Seattle Seahawks 2021 Outlook
Following a bitter end to a promising 2020 season, Pete Carroll‘s Seattle Seahawks should once again be in the conversation as one of the NFC’s top contenders next year. For starters, they have one of the league’s best quarterbacks in Russell Wilson, who just set career highs in passing touchdowns (40) and completion percentage (68.8 percent). After nine NFL seasons, Wilson is arguably better than ever.
The Seahawks’ offense will also be running a new system under former Los Angeles Rams passing game coordinator Shane Waldron, who was hired to replace Brian Schottenheimer in the offseason. Seattle’s offense faded badly down the stretch, and the hope is that some fresh blood will help maximize this group’s enormous potential.
Defensively, the Seahawks have been lackluster for several years now under Ken Norton Jr. Seattle experienced significant turnover on the defensive side of the ball this offseason, so it remains to be seen how the new unit will mesh. Additions such as Aldon Smith and Ahkello Witherspoon should provide relative upgrades, however.
Although the Seahawks play in a tough NFC West division, as long as they stay healthy they should be in the playoff picture again this year. Much of their talent is skewed towards their offense, but when you have Russell Wilson running the show that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Seattle Seahawks 2021 Fantasy Football Preview
The Seahawks have one of the most high-powered offenses in the league which features a number of contributors who can help out your fantasy lineup next season.
Their offense is built around Russell Wilson, who has consistently been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL since bursting onto the scene in 2012. Wilson was the fifth-most valuable quarterback in PPR leagues last year, per FantasyPros, and is a top-end QB1. In an offense that should be more aggressive this year under Shane Waldron, Wilson has top-three potential.
Wilson has considerable weaponry to work with, starting with one of the NFL’s best young players in D.K. Metcalf. Metcalf ranked sixth among wideouts in PPR fantasy points last year, putting up a monster campaign with 1,303 yards, 83 receptions, and 10 touchdowns. The 23-year-old will likely be a second-round draft choice and is an easy pick for your WR1 slot if he’s available.
Seattle also has one of the NFL’s best slot receivers in Tyler Lockett, who has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the past two seasons. Lockett racked up a career-high 100 catches and tied his personal best with 10 touchdowns last year, making him an excellent WR2 in fantasy lineups.
Chris Carson is expected to lead Seattle’s backfield, which has typically produced tons of touches given the team’s more conservative playing style. He’ll be looking to bounce back from an injury-marred 2020 in which he missed four games and averaged just 56.8 rushing yards per game. Carson still set a career-high with 287 receiving yards, however, and has seen his receiving yardage go up every year that he’s been in the league. When healthy, he has RB1 potential.

Seahawks To Win NFC (+1200)
For all their talent and regular-season success, the Seahawks have not played in a conference championship game since 2014. That’s bound to change sooner or later, as Seattle is too skilled to keep losing in the first round. They’re currently tied with the Dallas Cowboys for the fifth-best odds in the NFC, making this is a good value pick. With an elite head coach, quarterback, and talent up and down the roster, the Seahawks are as good a bet as any.
Russell Wilson To Win NFL MVP Award (+2000)
Russell hasn’t won an MVP yet, but this could be his year. He was on track to win last year before Seattle’s offense went off the rails, so if they can stay pedal to the metal all season then he definitely has a chance. BetMGM is actually a bit low on him, putting Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford ahead of him, and he’s clearly better than both of those guys. If you feel like taking a shot here, Wilson could be your guy.
Seahawks To Win NFC West (+280)
Despite winning 12 games last year in one of the toughest divisions in football, BetMGM is only giving Seattle the third-best odds at +280 to win the division. Given that the Seahawks have never finished lower than second with Russell Wilson under center, that seems like a mistake. The Rams and 49ers are both integrating new quarterbacks, and the Cardinals need to prove that they belong. While their division rivals all have serious question marks, the Seahawks have talent and stability on their side and could easily repeat as division champs.
