NHL Bets 4/26/22: Arizona Coyotes @ Minnesota Wild
Best Bet: Wild -1.5 Puck Line (-220)
Wager: 1 Unit
We’re finally to the last week of the regular season. I went 1-1 last week with my picks and it’s time to end the season on a high note. There are plenty of good matchups tonight and I really like the Wild taking down the Coyotes by more than a goal.
Minnesota is trying to clinch home ice for its first-round series against St. Louis as that series was locked in about a week ago. It’s a series that’s going to be epic.
On the other hand, Arizona can’t wait for its season to be over as there will likely be more changes coming to the team over the offseason. The Coyotes will also be playing in a new arena next season, too.

The Wild have won five in a row and eight of their last 10 games as they’re currently tied with the Blues for second place in the Central Division.
They’re fresh off a win against the Nashville Predators on Sunday, a game in which they blew a multi-goal lead but won in overtime. Before that game, they took down the Kraken, Canucks, Canadiens, and the Sharks.
This is another very winnable game for Minnesota and again, it all starts with Kirill Kaprizov. He’s been one of the best players in the NHL this year and just set the franchise record for the most points in a single season.
He currently has 45 goals and 103 points in 78 games while playing with Ryan Hartman and Nick Bjugstad.
Kevin Fiala has also had a breakout year with 84 points in 79 games, plus Mats Zuccarello has turned back the clock and has 79 points in 70 games.
The Coyotes have lost 10 in a row going into this game and I expect it to reach 11 after tonight.
NHL Bets 4/26/22: New York Islanders @ Washington Capitals
Best Bet: Under 6 Total Goals (-125)
Wager: 1 Unit
This is a bit tricky, but I am doing this one based on Alex Ovechkin‘s status.
He’s listed as a game-time decision, but he looks unlikely to play after not taking part in the morning skate. Head coach Peter Laviolette was also mum about his availability for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Without him likely in the lineup, Connor McMichael slides up to the top line with Evgeny Kuznetsov and Tom Wilson.
The Islanders come into this matchup having lost five in a row, but they likely still want to end the season on a high note. Barry Trotz will coach against his former team yet again in a matchup that does have playoff-seeding implications on the line.
If the Caps win, plus the Penguins lose in regulation, they’ll be in third place in the Metropolitan Division. They’ll have the inside track to nab that spot since they’ll still have a game in hand on their arch-rivals.
Washington comes into this matchup having won seven of its last 10 games but fell short on Sunday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Caps had a 3-1 lead with less than eight minutes to go before the Leafs tied it and then won in a shootout.
Not having Ovechkin will be a big deal as he’s been their best goal scorer again this season. He currently has 50 goals and 90 points in 77 games and should be getting more love for the Hart Trophy.
Without him, they’ll have to rely on TJ Oshie, Wilson, Nicklas Backstrom, Anthony Mantha, Kuznetsov, and the rest of their depth scorers
The Islanders are usually a very stingy defensive team and if you combine that with Ilya Sorokin starting, this has the makings of a low-scoring affair.
