March 1 NBA DFS Picks
Star Shootout, Early Games
MKF Contest: More or Less (Pick 2/2 correctly to win 3x your Buy-In)
Zach LaVine, SG, Chicago Bulls (vs. Denver Nuggets): Less Than 30.5 Points
It’s hard to bet against LaVine this season, given his career-best 28.7 points per game and 52.4 percent shooting, including 44.2 percent from three-point range. However, compiling at least 31 points is a high bar no matter the player, and even LaVine himself has failed to clear it in 19 of 32 games.
Moreover, it’s worth noting that LaVine has picked on plenty of weak defenses during his 13 instances when he has successfully surpassed Monday’s benchmark, accomplishing it against the likes of the Kings (twice), the Thunder, the Pelicans, the Pistons, the Timberwolves, the Warriors and the Wizards, along with the Mavericks’ vulnerable shooting guard defense.
In contrast, the Nuggets have been one of the stingiest defenses against two-guards all season even with Gary Harris sidelined by a thigh injury, allowing the seventh-lowest offensive efficiency (20.4 percent) and the second-fewest points per game (21.2) to the position.
Luka Doncic, PG, Dallas Mavericks (at Orlando Magic): More Than 28.5 Points
Doncic faces one of the weakest backcourt defenses in the league in that of the Magic, which has allowed the highest offensive efficiency (56.8 percent) to guards and the sixth-most points per game to point guards specifically (25.1). Orlando is also allowing NBA-high 41.8 percent three-point shooting to ones, while Doncic comes into Monday’s contest shooting a blistering 50.5 percent, including 45.8 percent from behind the arc, over his last 10 contests. Doncic has scored at least 29 points in six of his last 16 games alone and could be in for another big night given the matchup.

Kyrie Irving, PG, Brooklyn Nets: More Than 44.5 Fantasy Points
Irving is off the injury report after missing Saturday’s game against the Mavericks for injury management purposes and checks into Monday’s contest having scored over 43.5 MKF points in five of the last eight games. Kyrie also boasts a 32.2 percent usage rate and is averaging 48.5 MKF points per 36 minutes without Kevin Durant (hamstring) on the floor this season, and the Spurs check in allowing the third-most MKF points per game to point guards (54.2) over the last 15 games. San Antonio is also giving up the third-most points (29.0), second-most rebounds (7.6) and third-most made threes (4.0) to ones over that span, giving Irving multiple paths to exceeding this benchmark.
LaMarcus Aldridge, C, San Antonio Spurs: More Than 25.5 Fantasy Points
Aldridge has come back from his multi-game absence due to a hip injury in good form, scoring 24.9 and 30 MKF points in his first two games. He’s been coming off the bench in those contests, but he could well be back with the first unit Monday and will face a Nets squad allowing the second-highest offensive efficiency (35.3 percent) to fives while also giving up the third-most MKF points per game (56.9) to the position on the campaign. The latter number is partly the result of Brooklyn surrendering the third-most points (25.2), fifth-most assists (4.1), fifth-most steals (1.7) and fourth-most made threes (1.3) to centers, with the latter figure particularly relevant considering Aldridge, who’s scored at least 26 MKF points in 11 of 20 games, is shooting 37.1 percent from three-point range.
