It’s tough to pick against the NBA’s leading scorer, but Curry “only" averaged 23.0 points per game in three games against Los Angeles this year. The Lakers are one of the best defensive teams in the league, and I think they’ll be able to corral Curry again.
James is a bit trickier to predict given how infrequently he’s played, but he played well in his final two games of the year, connecting on 50 percent of his field-goal attempts and scoring 49 points in just under 56 minutes. James also tends to raise his game in the postseason, averaging 28.8 points per game in the playoffs compared to 27.0 points per game in the regular season for his career.

The bulk of Curry’s fantasy value comes from his scoring, so if the Lakers limit his buckets it’s going to be very hard for him to crack 50 fantasy points. He’s not a difference-maker on the boards and isn’t likely to get many assists due to his weak supporting cast. The Lakers’ defense may force him into several turnovers as well, which would lower his overall points total.
James, on the other hand, contributes in almost every fantasy category. In addition to his scoring, he also averaged close to eight rebounds and eight assists per game this year. Throw in his ability to provide multiple steals and blocks on the defensive end, and he should have a typical LeBron game.
