Kansas City Chiefs 2021 Win Total Bet: Schedule, Changes, and Outlook
Every football fan in America noticed the Chiefs’ biggest flaw in the most recent Super Bowl; their offensive line. Without several key interior pieces such as starting tackles Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz, Patrick Mahomes was running for his life against a vicious Tampa Bay pass rush that held Kansas City’s high-octane offense to a measly nine points.
Not surprisingly, the Chiefs made their offensive line a priority this offseason. They spent massive money on former Patriots guard Joe Thuney, traded for former Ravens OT Orlando Brown, signed Rams C Austin Blythe, drafted C Creed Humphrey in the second round, and even brought former Pro-Bowler Kyle Long out of retirement. Kansas City now has sufficient talent to keep Mahomes upright and allow for some semblance of a ground game to take pressure off of the pass.
With the offensive line improved, the Chiefs should once again be one of the best teams in football. Mahomes remains surrounded by excellent skill players such as Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, while the defense is solid. Andy Reid continues to be one of the best coaches in the NFL, and Kansas City should be extra motivated to avenge its Super Bowl loss.
Kansas Chiefs 2021 Win Total Bet Pick
Chiefs To Win UNDER 12.5 Games In 2021-2022 NFL Season (-115)
The Chiefs are a well-oiled machine with double-digit wins in each of the past six seasons, including a franchise-record 14 in 2020. That said, you’d have to be really confident in them to bet the over here. Winning 13+ games in the NFL is no small feat, especially with Kansas City’s tough schedule.
Coming off back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, the Chiefs may be due for some regression in 2021. They’re certainly capable of hitting the over here if they have good health and play to win every game, but their defense is beatable and even Mahomes can be made to look human at times. The under just seems like the safer play to me here.
