Jets Sign Corey Davis
The Jets added another big wide receiver in Davis to pair with talented sophomore Denzel Mims, providing either Sam Darnold or their first-round rookie quarterback — or Deshaun Watson?! — with an improved wide receiver core.
Davis is a former Top-5 pick who showed significant growth last season, posting 65 receptions, 984 yards, and five touchdowns on 92 targets in 14 games, setting career-highs across the board. At 6-3, 209-lbs, Davis is a big-bodied possession receiver who can make the tough catches over the middle.
Jets 2021 NFL Betting Outlook
The Jets are currently listed at +1600 to win the AFC East and +10000 to win the Super Bowl on BetMGM, but I wouldn’t recommend either of these bets. Instead, I would suggest keeping an eye out for the team’s season win total. Adding Davis definitely makes the Jets a better offense.
I would expect the Jets’ win total to end up anywhere between 5.5 to 6.5 games.
The Jets have a chance to make a splash with the number-two overall pick and select a new franchise quarterback, or they can continue riding with Darnold and bolster their offensive line. Either way, I expect this to be an improved team, especially with the addition by subtraction of firing Adam Gase. Keep an eye out for this bet.
