2021 Most Regular Season Homers
- Eloy Jimenez (+1500)
Eloy Jimenez boasts elite batted-ball data that made him a near inclusion with my favorite picks to be the home run champion. The slugging outfielder ranked fourth among qualified hitters in barrels per plate appearance percentage (11.5 Brls/PA%) and eighth in flyball/line-drive exit velocity (97.7 mph), according to Baseball Savant.
Jimenez is a worthy dart throw if you have the bankroll flexibility to tack an extra hitter or two onto my other selections.

2021 Most Regular Season RBIs
- Eloy Jimenez (+1500)
- Jose Abreu (+2000)
Chicago’s lineup is loaded, and Jimenez and Abreu hit in the heart of the order. It’s a surprise the latter is priced with longer odds than the former after Abreu led MLB in RBIs last year. Abreu recently tested positive for COVID-19, but he’s reportedly asymptomatic, alleviating any concerns I might otherwise harbor for his 2021 outlook.
Jimenez’s line isn’t unreasonable, but Abreu’s a smoking value, tying for the ninth-shortest odds.
2021 AL Cy Young Award
- Lucas Giolito (+450)
- Lance Lynn (+1800)
- Dallas Keuchel (+2000)
Lucas Giolito is my favorite chalk pitching option to wager on for the AL Cy Young Award. Lance Lynn and Dallas Keuchel‘s inclusion speaks to the depth of quality starters in the Pale Hose’s rotation, but I’m not enamored with wagering on the inning-horse righty or the crafty southpaw.
2021 Most Regular Season Pitcher Strikeouts
- Lucas Giolito (+800)
Giolito blends everything I want in a potential strikeout champion. He’s a workhorse, finishing 11th in regular-season innings last year with 72.1. The righty has a power arsenal that misses bats in bunches, leading to a second-best finish in swinging-strike percentage at 17.3%, per FanGraphs. Giolito utilized that combo to finish fourth in strikeouts (97) and fifth in strikeout percentage (33.7 K%) among qualified pitchers last year.
As much as I like placing a bet on Giolito to win the AL Cy Young Award, I love his more bettor-friendly odds to lead MLB in strikeouts even more.
