The New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning face off in a decisive Game 7 in Tampa Bay on Friday night. Typically, these are games where the officials just let the players play. However, after what happened during the opening shift Wednesday, the refs may call this game tighter than they normally would.
If the Lightning score a power-play goal as a result, Victor Hedman will likely have a primary or secondary assist. Of Tampa Bay’s three man-advantage goals in Game 5, two were assisted by Hedman. This prop is our prime pick to maximize plus-money.
Lightning To Win Game 7 In Regulation (-105)
Tampa Bay comes in at -105 on Friday night against New York, making them the slight favorites at home. Nikita Kucherov appears unlikely to suit up for the Lightning, which is undoubtedly a factor there.
Chris Lee will not be officiating Game 7, which could also be a difference-maker. Tampa Bay had just four total power-play chances in the three games Lee refereed, so there should be more opportunities tonight. Given that New York’s penalty kill is just 65.1%, those extra chances could swing the game.
Accordingly, we’re going with the Lightning to win Game 7 in regulation. The moneyline at -175 is safer, but I don’t think Tampa Bay will need overtime to close out New York.
