Robert Woods 2021 Fantasy Football Outlook
There aren’t many wide receivers that are criminally underrated each year like Woods. He’s been a model of consistency since joining the Rams in 2017, giving them a wideout who excels as a pass-catcher, runner and run-blocker. In each of his first four seasons with the Rams, Woods operated with Jared Goff as his quarterback, limiting the vertical targets he saw in Sean McVay’s aerial attack.
The good news for Woods is that the Rams have upgraded from Goff, acquiring Matthew Stafford in a trade with the Detroit Lions this offseason. Stafford, not to completely discredit Goff, brings a lot more to the quarterback position in Los Angeles. Besides creating magic outside of the pocket, Stafford isn’t afraid to let the ball loose down the field, averaging 9.9 intended air yards per throw over the past two seasons.
With Stafford under center, the Rams brought in DeSean Jackson via free agency and selected Tutu Atwell in the 2021 NFL Draft. It shows that McVay wants to do everything he can to put Stafford in a position to succeed. However, even with the additions of Jackson and Atwell, Woods should still hold one of the premier roles at wide receiver in Los Angeles alongside Cooper Kupp.

Robert Woods 2021 Fantasy Football Draft Value (PPR)
After a quiet introductory season with the Rams in 2017, Woods has been a fantastic value in fantasy football. The former second-round pick out of USC has finished as WR11, WR14, and WR14 in PPR formats in each of the past three seasons. Additionally, woods has quietly had a consistent role as a runner, garnering 60 rushing attempts for 427 yards and four rushing touchdowns in the past three years combined. While Woods could see fewer carries in the rushing attack, expect to see more deep targets and possibly more touchdowns with Stafford orchestrating the offense.
For what seems like the billionth year, Woods is a massive value in the fourth-to-fifth round range in fantasy football drafts.
