A.J. Brown 2021 Fantasy Football Outlook
Now entering his age-24 season, Brown is poised for a monster season with the vacated targets left behind by Corey Davis and Jonnu Smith. That won’t come without a big challenge, though.
Brown and his teammates on offense will be working under a new coordinator in Todd Downing, who was promoted from tight ends coach to replace the departing Arthur Smith. At least this is an in-house replacement, so we could see Downing implement a similar scheme to Smith’s.
Brown has finished as WR6 and WR30 in PPR points per game in his first two seasons in the NFL, despite receiving only 106 and 84 targets. The former Ole Miss star should be able to eclipse 130 targets this year, which gives him massive upside with his playmaking ability.
Brown has posted 20.2 and 15.4 yards per reception along with 7.4 and 6.1 yards after catch per reception so far ib his first two seasons. He’s a threat to take it to the house on any play. Brown is also a beast in the red zone, totaling 19 touchdowns in 30 career games.
A.J. Brown 2021 Fantasy Football Draft Value (PPR)
Over Memorial Day weekend, the Titans acquired Julio Jones, which helps the offense tremendously but also eats into Brown’s potential target share. However, the efficiency with Julio garnering more defensive attention on the other side could outweigh Brown’s potential loss in volume.
Even with Jones in town, Brown remains a top-5 wide receiver heading into 2021 fantasy football draft season. The combination of big-play ability, touchdown equity, and potential volume is too enticing to pass up.
This is a young stud wide receiver who has the upside to finish as fantasy football’s overall WR1.
