Amari Cooper 2021 Fantasy Football Outlook
When looking at Cooper’s strong 2020 campaign, it is easy to be optimistic about him heading into next season with a healthy Dak Prescott returning to the Dallas Cowboys’ offense.
Despite having a backup quarterback for 11 games, Dallas still finished with the eighth-best passing offense in the NFL last year with 260.1 yards per game. Mike McCarthy‘s system loves to throw the ball, leading the league with 639 attempts. This number bodes well for Cooper, who is the top receiver on an offense that also features Michael Gallup, CeeDee Lamb, and Ezekiel Elliot.
Cooper will likely be at the forefront of one of the NFL’s top passing offenses in 2021 once more, which should yield more big numbers for him. Despite the team’s inconsistent QB play last year, Cooper still topped 1,000 receiving yards for the fifth time in six seasons and set a personal best with 92 receptions, finishing as a top-15 wideout in PPR formats.
With Prescott back in the fold, Cooper has the potential to finish in the top-10 at his position this year. He should easily surpass 1,000 receiving yards once again, and with an extra game on the schedule he could threaten 100 receptions and double-digit touchdowns as well.

Last year Cooper proved he can flourish regardless of who’s under center for Dallas. That makes him a safe fantasy pick with a high floor for 2021, as he’ll continue to see plenty of volume in a pass-heavy offense. He’s currently going at the end of the fourth round and beginning of the fifth round of preseason fantasy drafts, but I’d consider reaching for him a round earlier as a WR2 with WR1 upside.
