Aaron Rodgers 2021 Fantasy Football Outlook
After a down 2019 (by his standards), Rodgers came roaring back last season to capture his third MVP award at 37 years old, leading the Green Bay Packers to a 13-3 record and the NFC Championship Game for the second year in a row.
Rodgers was a fantasy monster last year, racking up 361 fantasy points and averaging 24.1 points per game. He also led the NFL in numerous categories, including touchdowns, completion percentage, and QBR. By setting personal bests in several categories as well, Rodgers proved he’s still at the top of his game.
The main question mark surrounding Rodgers is where he will play in 2021. Rodgers has made it clear that he’s unhappy in Green Bay for several reasons, including the team’s overall direction after they drafted his potential replacement last year in Jordan Love. The Packers also haven’t been able to build a consistent Super Bowl contender around Rodgers, which has led him to eye other contenders.
If Rodgers remains with Green Bay, he’ll continue to lead an offense that paced the NFL in points scored last year. He’s developed exceptional chemistry with Davante Adams, who hauled in 18 of Rodgers’ 48 touchdown passes last year. Robert Tonyan has also emerged as one of the league’s better tight ends, and Aaron Jones is one of the best running backs in the NFL.
So if Rodgers stays, he’ll have plenty of weapons to ensure another productive campaign. While it would be unfair to expect a repeat of last season given his age, he should still be good for at least 4,000 passing yards and 30-plus touchdowns, making him a top fantasy quarterback once again.
Aaron Rodgers 2021 Fantasy Football Draft Value (PPR)
Despite his age and the uncertainty surrounding him, Rodgers should still be one of the first quarterbacks off the board in fantasy drafts. While his limited rushing makes him less valuable than dual-threat quarterbacks such as Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen, Rodgers is still the best pure passer in the game. While some regression is to be expected, he’s still a top-flight QB1 regardless of where he ends up this offseason.
