The Phoenix Suns came within two games of winning their first NBA title in franchise history last summer, only to blow a 2-0 Finals lead against the Milwaukee Bucks by losing four straight. It was a disappointing end to an otherwise fantastic season for the Suns, who snapped a streak of six consecutive losing seasons with a 51-21 regular-season record before advancing all the way to the NBA Finals — their first championship appearance since 1993.
After coming oh-so-close last season, Phoenix appears poised to make another deep playoff run this year. In addition to bringing back Chris Paul, the Suns also shored up their depth at multiple key positions by acquiring JaVale McGee, Landry Shamet, and Elfrid Payton during the offseason. Between Paul, Deandre Ayton, and Devin Booker, Phoenix has a tremendous core with championship aspirations.
With that in mind, let’s dig into some 2021 Suns betting tips for the upcoming season. Please note that all 2021 Suns bet picks odds and lines are current as of Monday, October 4.

Suns Win Total Prediction 2021-2022
Suns Over 51.5 Wins (-105) at BetMGM
The Suns’ success last year wasn’t a fluke, as they were legitimately one of the NBA’s best all-around teams. They were elite on both ends of the court, ranking seventh in points scored while allowing the seventh-fewest points. Their 51-21 record was only two games better than their expected W-L record of 49-23, which rated third in the NBA.
That level of balance typically translates to regular-season dominance, as Phoenix can win games with both its offense and defense. The Suns are deep enough to survive stretches without Paul or anyone else who may be injured. They also have a nice blend of young talent and veteran leadership, which should help them avoid significant regression.
Suns Win Total Pick 2021-2022: Over
The Suns racked up 51 wins in a 72-game season last year, good for a .708 winning percentage. That translates to 58 wins over an 82-game season, so Phoenix should still be able to hit the Over here even if they experience a slight drop-off.
Suns Make NBA Playoffs Prediction 2021-2022
Suns To Make Playoffs (-2500) at PointsBet
The Suns came in second in the Western Conference last year, finishing just one game behind the Utah Jazz for the best record in the NBA. Accordingly, they could fall off pretty substantially this year and still make the playoffs.
As mentioned above, Phoenix has the talent to win 50+ games again and potentially threaten 60. They have a deep, versatile roster that is capable of dominating the regular season and sailing into the playoffs with a top seed.
Suns Make NBA Playoffs Pick 2021-2022: Yes
A lot will need to go wrong for the Suns to miss the playoffs. As long as they stay relatively healthy, there’s more than enough talent here to reach the postseason, making this our NBA bet of the day.
Suns To Win NBA Championship Prediction 2021-2022
Suns To Win NBA Championship (+1500) at Caesars
After faltering at the finish line last year, the Suns are well-positioned to make another championship run this season. Most of their roster returns intact, including their Big 3 of Paul, Booker, and Ayton.
While Paul has already established himself as one of the greatest point guards of all time, he’s still searching for his first ring. After narrowly missing out on the NBA title, Phoenix should return even hungrier and more motivated to finish the job this season.
Suns NBA Championship Pick 2021-2022: Yes
The Suns were on track to win the NBA Finals last summer before Giannis Antetokounmpo took over and willed the Milwaukee Bucks to victory. If Phoenix makes it back to the Finals, their experience will give them a crucial edge.
Suns & Player Prop Predictions 2021-2022
Devin Booker To Win 2021-22 NBA MVP Award (+2500) at DraftKings
Booker has cemented himself as a bona fide superstar over the past few seasons, earning back-to-back All-Star nods after improving his shooting efficiency. Over the past two years, he’s averaged 26.1 points per game on 48.6% shooting from the floor. He isn’t merely a scorer, either, averaging 4.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game during that span as well.
With Paul needing more rest as he enters his age-36 season, the Suns will continue to lean on Booker to be their top scorer and carry a heavy load on offense. And with Booker entering his age-25 season, he’s just hitting his prime and could be ready to take his game to new heights this year. Don’t be surprised if he takes home MVP honors.
Deandre Ayton To Lead NBA In Rebounds Per Game (+2500) at DraftKings
Ayton has averaged at least 10 rebounds per game in each of his first three seasons, ranking 13th as a rookie and 11th last year. He was even better during the postseason, averaging 11.8 boards per game to help Phoenix reach the Finals.
Given Ayton’s age (23) and how he elevated his game during the playoffs, he could be poised to reach another level this year. 11.8 rebounds per game would’ve ranked fifth in the NBA last year, so if he can build on that during the regular season he’ll have a chance to lead the league.
Suns To Win Pacific Division (+200) at BetMGM
The Suns won their division fairly easily last year, finishing four games ahead of the pack. Phoenix proceeded to take down the second-place Los Angeles Clippers and third-place Los Angeles Lakers in the playoffs, proving that they were indeed the top dog in their division.
While both LA teams remain dangerous, as do the Golden State Warriors, none of them have as much talent on paper as the Suns. While the divisional race may be closer this year, Phoenix should be able to repeat as division champs.
