History says to avoid right-handed pitchers in Yankee Stadium, but New York’s current lineup is extremely right-handed heavy and has the highest strikeout rate in this split situation (vs. RHP at home in the last 30 days) at 29.2%. Over the last 14 days, it’s even higher at 30.6%.
Kaprielian has averaged 5.8 strikeouts per game this year, and we get a prop just under that at 5.5. He has struck out at least six batters in four of his six starts this year, including three of his four road starts. My projections have him getting six strikeouts against the Yankees tonight, but with this lineup I think there is potential for seven depending on how many innings he can go.
Alex Cobb, Los Angeles Angels vs. Detroit Tigers (9:38 p.m. ET)

Cobb has been inconsistent this year, but I like the spot here at home and the Angels are a sizable favorite (-216) against the lowly Tigers. Cobb averages 5.8 strikeouts per game and the prop here is 5.5, which Cobb has exceeded in five of his nine starts this year (including three of his last five).
Detroit’s lineup projects as one of the weakest on the slate tonight, and only Jonathan Schoop poses a substantial threat. The Tigers whiff 26.4% of the time in this split (vs. RHP on the road in the last 30 days), while Cobb’s strikeout rate is 28% on the season.
My projections have Cobb facing 26 batters (6.5 innings) with a 27% strikeout rate, which projects to 7 strikeouts tonight.
