Things will continue to heat up in the Big 12 when No. 20 Oklahoma State (3-1) takes on No. 23 Kansas State (3-1) this Saturday, Sept. 28, at noon ET.
The Cowboys and Wildcats were the two biggest fallers in this week’s AP Top 25 poll, so each team will be especially eager to bounce back with a win. Oklahoma State (down six) lost 22-19 to No. 12 Utah, while Kansas State (down 10) was blown out by unranked BYU, 38-9.
Can K-State get back to its winning ways at home, or will the Pokes thrive as an underdog? Here are the latest Oklahoma State vs Kansas State odds, plus my predictions and best bets for this Big 12 showdown.

Oklahoma State vs Kansas State Prediction
Oklahoma State 27, Kansas State 23
I get why Kansas State is the favorite here, but I’m struggling to see why they’re favored by such a wide margin. The Cougars may be better than advertised, but seeing the Wildcats get handled so easily doesn’t make you feel good about their chances against another tough opponent.
Oklahoma State made its loss to Utah look closer than it really was, but the Utes have an elite defense, and the same can’t be said of Kansas State. The Cowboys aren’t without their issues as well, but they should find more success against the Wildcats secondary than they did this past weekend.
Many of Kansas State’s errors against BYU were self-inflicted. The Wildcats turned the ball over three times, including a fumble that was returned 30 yards for a touchdown. Things won’t get any easier against Oklahoma State, which forced Arkansas and Utah to commit three turnovers apiece.
Winning the turnover battle isn’t the only thing that matters, but as we saw last week, such mistakes can completely cancel out an otherwise solid performance. The Pokes are more reliable in that regard — on both sides of the ball — which is a big reason why I like them to prevail on the road.

Oklahoma State vs Kansas State Best Bets
Oklahoma State Moneyline (+180) @ Kansas State
Backing Oklahoma State to cover as a 6-point underdog is a good bet, but there’s plenty more value in taking them to win outright. The Cowboys went 4-2 straight up as underdogs in 2023, so Mike Gundy’s teams clearly know how to win despite adversity.
Ultimately, I’m less confident in Kansas State’s ability to respond to a big loss than I am in their opponent. QB Avery Johnson is solid, but he’s young, and the Wildcats can’t win on the legs of DJ Giddens alone. Lock in Oklahoma State with your college football bet of the day.
Under 55.5 Points (-112)
Both the Cowboys and Wildcats failed to live up to expectations on offense this past week, combining to score just 28 points. Each team should experience some positive regression on Saturday, but will it be enough to hit the Over at this lofty 55.5-point total?
Kansas State’s turnover-prone nature also complicates things. They can help push this one beyond this total if they have a perfect game, but Oklahoma State is their toughest opponent yet, and I would count on points being a bit more difficult to come by.
