We arrive in the Great White North for the running of the Canadian Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen is now on a three-race win streak, while the rest of the field continues to spin their wheels hopelessly in a futile effort to surpass him. At one point during the Spanish GP, Verstappen was 50 seconds ahead of second-place Lewis Hamilton, and even after a pit stop was well and truly ahead.
Can anybody catch Verstappen? We will once again ask ourselves that question this weekend as the fans traipse to Montréal to watch their favorite drivers, but the answer may just be the same as usual.
Let’s dive into my Canadian GP preview, including the odds and some of my favorite bets.

F1 Canada Winner Prediction
Max Verstappen (-300) • FanDuel Sportsbook
It’s hard to really pick anyone else other than Verstappen this weekend. He has looked unbeatable for the vast majority of this season and continues to pile up the victories, riding a three-race win streak into Montréal.
You have to spend a bit for this pick, but nobody has the upside and stability that he currently has, and he’s shown the ability to come from behind and win as well.

F1 Canada Max Verstappen Tips
Verstappen will always be the favorite in today’s F1 hierarchy simply because he has the best results over the past year-plus.
For this reason, I will always give some thought to betting him given his relative odds to win each week.
F1 Canada Sergio Pérez Tips
Pérez has had to make comebacks in each of the last two races after qualifying incidents, but being in the Red Bull car always helps him save some face at the end of the race.
However, we have to ask ourselves about the likelihood of him outgunning Verstappen in this race. Pérez is the second-most likely driver to win this weekend, but he finished in P20 last year after a gearbox failure, so keep that in mind.
F1 Canada Best Prop Bets
Lewis Hamilton: Podium Finish (-115) • FanDuel Sportsbook
WAGER: 1 Unit
The Mercedes-Benz team had fallen on some hard times this season, ranking fourth in the standings prior to the last race. All of a sudden, though, they brought in the upgrades and had two Mercedes drivers standing on the podium in second and third place in Barcelona.
In second was Hamilton, cruising into the position early on and never letting go, and we could see him do the same thing in Canada this week. Last year, Hamilton got third at this track, and the weakness of the rest of the field right now — combined with Mercedes’ upgrades — could give the seven-time world champion an edge.
Safety Car: YES (-220) • FanDuel Sportsbook
WAGER: 1 Unit
There were two safety cars in this race last year, one real and one virtual. There are quite a few straightaways on the track that would prevent a crash, but turn two is a very difficult hairpin and had a crash there last year, so keep an eye on that part of Sector 1.
Max Verstappen: Fastest Lap (-105) • FanDuel Sportsbook
WAGER: 2 Units
Just over even odds for this wager feels pretty favorable to me, as Verstappen nearly took the fastest lap here last season and is coming off setting the fastest lap in the last race as well. The Red Bull car is still the fastest on the track and can navigate the tough turns extremely well.
