Director of Social Strategy | Lead Producer, NBA | Social Account Manager

Director of Social Strategy

The Role: Reporting into the CEO and Creative Director, the Director of Social Strategy will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the company’s overall social media strategy. As such, they will be expected to bring a highly-developed understanding of social media best practices, as well a comprehensive understanding of the social media landscape as it relates to the syndication and monetization of digital sports content on third-party platforms. With proven successes in both managing campaigns and building audience across digital sports properties, not to mention unrivalled contacts across leading social media platforms and third-party websites, the Director of Social Strategy will also be expected to set performance KPIs, formulate ‘best practice’ guidelines for the company’s social media channels, and clearly communicate short, medium and long-term strategic objectives to both the company’s internal departments and to its senior management.

Key Responsibilities:
•   Developing and implementing The Game Day’s social media strategy
•   Clearly communicating this strategy across the company’s operating groups
•   Setting social performance KPIs
•   Providing reporting data both for internal performance purposes, and for external stakeholders as required
•   Identifying, recommending and licensing social media tools as appropriate to effectively fulfill the company’s social media strategy
•   Developing and maintaining third-party partnerships, particularly with leading social media platforms and with potential syndication partners
•   Identifying and developing new revenue opportunities for the company’s digital content
•   Building and managing a team as required
•   Assisting with the development of content planning for social media, including programming
•   Working with the social media and production teams to develop, update and execute a community engagement calendar
•   Delivering regular strategic updates to the business
•   Providing qualitative and quantitative feedback based on consumer insights and close monitoring of community channels

Skills & Experience
•   Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
•   Deep understanding of social media best practices, as well a comprehensive understanding of the social media landscape as it relates to the syndication and monetization of digital sports content on third-party platforms.
•   Proven success in building audience across digital sports content
•   Proven experience developing and implementing social media strategy across digital sports properties
•   Proven track record of managing impactful social media campaigns
•   Very strong verbal, visual and written communication skills
•   Current in depth knowledge of social media analytics, best practices and emerging trends in sports media
•   Ability to develop and execute community engagement programs
•   Minimum of 4+ years in a similar role Package dependent on experience.

Lead Producer, NBA

The Role: Reporting to the Head of Production, the Lead Producer will be responsible for managing production for the company’s flagship NBA channel. This will include both the planning and creative development of The Game Day’s NBA video programming schedule, as well as the supervision of live shoots. In addition, the Lead Producer will be expected to work with the company’s social media team to ensure the timely delivery of video assets according to a pre-agreed schedule.

Key Responsibilities

•   Hands-on production of NBA content, including sourcing and production
•   Supervision and production of live shoots
•   Assisting with the development of content planning, including programming formats
•   Responsibility for the timely delivery of all assets
•   Working with the company’s social media teams Experience / Requirements
•   Proven experience and success producing online video sports channels (ideally within the NBA)
•   Voiceover and / or presenting experience a bonus
•   Proficient self-shooter
•   Proven experience running live shoots
•   Strong scriptwriting skills
•   Experience in building / managing social media channels a bonus, ideally within sport
•   Keen awareness of industry trends
•   In-depth knowledge of the NBA
•   Minimum of 3 years+ in a similar production or agency environment

Social Account Manager

The Role: Reporting into the Head of Social Programming and the Director of Social Strategy, the Social Account Manager will be responsible for managing the company’s acquired social media channels in support of the Game Day’s primary sports verticals. As such, they will be tasked with assimilating the channels into the company’s social media portfolio, and both managing and growing these channels’ respective audiences as part of the company’s social media growth strategy.   As well as building and managing the acquired channels’ online communities, include monitoring discussion forums, replying to comments, creating and implementing community engagement initiatives, and supporting a wide array of diverse communities for our programming and content, the Social Account Manager will be also responsible for ensuring that the social accounts meet agreed KPIs, as well as providing regular internal reporting against pre-agreed performance benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:
•   Assimilating acquired social media properties and channels into The Game Day’s social media portfolio
•   Building and maintaining an online community in support of the company’s overall social media strategy
•   Monitoring and driving conversation across all platforms
•   Assisting with the development of content planning for social media, including programming and design formats
•   Working with the social media and production teams to develop, update and execute a community engagement calendar
•   Designing assets for the company’s social platforms
•   Writing engaging and emotive content for use on relevant social media channels and forums
•   Promoting new content, statistics and information to the Game Day community
•   Delivering regular community updates to the business, as well as informing of community sentiment and content-focused campaign performance
•   Providing qualitative and quantitative feedback based on consumer insights and close monitoring of community channels

Skills & Experience 
•   Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
•   Deep knowledge in NFL & NBA
•   Must be fluent in all social media platforms including engagement best practices, formats and specs.
•   Basic design skills
•   Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
•   Demonstrable experience as a community manager, preferably within the NBA
•   Proven track record of managing impactful social media campaigns
•   Very strong verbal, visual and written communication skills
•   Current in depth knowledge of social media analytics, best practices and emerging trends in sports media
•   Ability to develop and execute community engagement programs
•   Editing experience and on-screen / hosting experience would be a bonus
