Morocco vs Croatia World Cup Predictions

Morocco returns to the World Cup for the second consecutive tournament. They had a disappointing showing at Russia 2018, drawing one and losing two while finishing last in their group. They’ll look for a better effort here, but they’ll once again deal with tough competition.

Croatia awaits the North African side in this Group F opener. They’ll try to build off a highly impressive finish in the last World Cup, where they were finalists before falling short against France. While this team isn’t as formidable as the 2018 version, they’re still an imposing squad.

This is a group that also includes Belgium and Canada, with the former as the favorites to finish first here. Croatia is considered as the clear-cut second-best team here, so they’ll be expecting three points in this match. It will be interesting to see how the Moroccans fare in this one.

Let’s dive in to explore the best bets between Morocco and Croatia.

Morocco vs Croatia Odds

  • 3-way handicap: Croatia (+100) | Draw (+200) | Morocco (+290)
  • Draw No Bet: Croatia (-235) | Morocco (+166)
  • Over/Under Goals: Over 2.5 (+144) | Under 2.5 (-178)
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes (+106) | No (-136)

It’s no surprise to see Croatia as favorites, but they seem reasonably priced at +100 odds. The total is heavily juiced to the Under, reflecting a projected low-scoring outlook for this match.

There’s more value in taking both teams not to score here, as you’d pay a -136 price instead of -178 on the Under.

Morocco vs Croatia odds are current as of 1:00 p.m. EST on Nov. 18th.

Morocco vs Croatia Prediction

Morocco 0:1 Croatia

Morocco was highly impressive during CAF qualifying, winning all six of their matches while scoring 20 goals and only conceding one. They have performed admirably in two recent friendlies, defeating Chile 2-0 and drawing Paraguay 0-0.

The team came out with 4-4-1-1 and 4-3-3 formations in those matches. They recalled winger Hakim Ziyech for these matches after he was left off their squad in World Cup qualifying. This is huge because Ziyech’s creativity can add a boost to this attack.

Croatia won a group that included Russia, Slovakia, and Slovenia during UEFA qualifying. They have looked sharp in recent fixtures, defeating Austria once and Denmark twice in Nations League. During that span, they also earned a win and draw against France.

While Luka Modric is getting up there in age, there is still talent throughout this roster, such as midfielders Marcelo Brozovic and Mateo Kovacic. Brozovic is currently recovering from a thigh strain, but he should be ready for this match.

This is an experienced Croatia side, which gives them an edge over Morocco here. While Morocco is certainly no pushover, look for the Croatian midfield to be the difference in a low-scoring match.

Morocco vs Croatia Betting Tips

  • Croatia has gone 10-3-1 in their last 14 matches, a stretch that began in Sept. 2021.
  • Since Oct. 19th, 2019, Morocco has gone 31-7-3 across all competitions.
  • Morocco has only advanced past the group stage once in five World Cup appearances.
  • Croatia made it to the semifinals at the World Cup in 1998 and finals in 2018.

Morocco vs Croatia Best Bets

Croatia (+100) at FanDuel Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 unit

Croatia has proven to be among the most successful mid-level teams on the global stage. This is a team that made it all the way to the finals in 2018. There are still players from that roster on this squad, like Modric.

This team had a successful qualifying and come into this tournament in strong form. We’re getting them at a palatable price with +100 odds, making it worth a look. While Morocco has played well, their competition has not been as strong as what Croatia has seen.

Both Teams to Score: No (-136) at FanDuel Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 unit

Both of these teams have proven to be organized defensively, doing a good job at limiting goal-scoring from their opponents. Morocco only conceded once during qualifying, while Croatia has only given up four goals in their last eight matches.

This projects as a low-scoring match, but the Under is a bit too expensive, so we’ll go with both teams not to score.
