After a productive 6-3 week with my player prop picks, I enter Monday with a season record of 45-50 (-13.08 units). I’ll try to start off this week on a high note with the following three player props to consider for the upcoming eight-game slate.
March 22 NBA Prop Bet Tips
DeMar DeRozan, San Antonio Spurs vs. Charlotte Hornets
Over 19.5 Points (-120)
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.83 units)
DeRozan continues to pace the Spurs’ offense, averaging 20.3 points per game for the season. He’s scored at least 20 points in six of his last seven games, averaging 37 minutes per game during that stretch. The Hornets have the 10th-worst defensive rating in the league, which could help DeRozan produce another strong scoring performance.
Gordon Hayward, Charlotte Hornets at San Antonio Spurs
Over 6.5 Rebounds (-110)
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.91 units)
Injuries have hit the Hornets hard. Not only is Cody Zeller (shoulder) set to miss his second straight game, but star rookie LaMelo Ball (wrist) is expected to be out for the rest of the season. Combined, those two players were averaging 13 rebounds per game. Hayward has already hauled in at least seven rebounds in four of the last five games, so he could really thrive in this category, especially considering that the Spurs have allowed the fifth-most rebounds per game in the league.
Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Over 22.5 Points (-125)
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.8 units)
Talk about two contrasting performances against the same team. Edwards torched the Suns on Thursday, scoring 42 points on 31 shot attempts. However, they held him to 11 points on 4-for-18 shooting from the field during their rematch Friday. The Suns are one of the best defensive teams in the league, so it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that they made the necessary adjustments to slow the rookie down.
On the positive side of things, Edwards is averaging 24.9 points and 22.2 shot attempts over the last 10 games. Expect him to jack up shots at will again Monday, leaving him with a favorable opportunity to hit the over against a Thunder team that doesn’t have nearly the defensive prowess that the Suns do.
