MLB Parlay Bets Today | MLB Parlay Betting Picks 4/12/22

Posted: Apr 12, 2022Last updated: Apr 12, 2022

The 2022 MLB season is in full swing as all 30 teams will be in action on Tuesday. Besides watching all the exciting players across the league, it’s also fun to wager some money on the games to add a little more excitement.

Parlays are a popular bet for sportsbooks as you can combine multiple bets to create a bet that needs several events to happen to win, which results in larger payouts.

I’ll be sharing my best MLB parlay picks all season long at The Game Day, including my best MLB parlay bets today.

All MLB gameday odds are current as of Tuesday, April 12, at 11 a.m. ET from BetMGM Sportsbook.

MLB Best Parlay Bet Today

Today’s Best MLB Parlay (+466)

  • Boston Red Sox OVER 4.5 Runs (-105)
  • Houston Astros OVER 4.5 Runs (-135)
  • Atlanta Braves Moneyline (-150)

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Boston Red Sox will square off with the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday afternoon, with Tyler Alexander expected to take the mound for the Tigers. Alexander is a southpaw who’s been hittable and homer-prone throughout his career, averaging 9.8 H/9 and 1.5 HR/9 over his first three seasons.

The Red Sox are built to hit lefties with right-handed hitters such as Xander Bogaerts, Trevor Story, and J.D. Martinez. This is also mostly the same group that ranked second in runs and sixth in batting average against southpaws last year.

The Houston Astros were another team that mashed lefties in 2021, as they produced the most runs against left-handed pitching a season ago. On Tuesday night they’ll face Madison Bumgarner, who is a shell of his former self and doesn’t have a great bullpen behind him.

After getting blown out by the Washington Nationals on Monday, the Atlanta Braves will look to get revenge against Patrick Corbin and co. on Tuesday. Corbin has been a disaster lately, going 11-24 with a 5.48 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP since the beginning of the 2020 season.

With the three favorable matchups outlined above, this is my MLB parlay pick of the day.

MLB Parlay Bet Today

Today’s Parlay (+479)

  • Chicago White Sox OVER 4.5 Runs (+100)
  • Philadelphia Phillies Moneyline (-145)
  • Kansas City Royals/St. Louis Cardinals OVER 8.5 Runs (-140)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Regardless of who the Chicago White Sox face this year, their offense is capable of producing plenty of runs. Tim Anderson is back in the lineup after serving a suspension to begin the season, and he’s followed by talented hitters in Luis Robert, Jose Abreu, Eloy Jimenez, and Yasmani Grandal. Matt Brash is making his MLB debut for the Seattle Mariners and will be tested by Chicago’s loaded offense.

The New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies are both off to promising starts and are expected to contend for the NL East crown this season. While Tylor Megill showed potential during his Opening Day start, Zack Wheeler is the more established pitcher. I’m siding with him and the Phillies to take care of business at home.

The Kansas City Royals just got shelled for 27 runs by the Cleveland Guardians over their last two games, so their pitching staff is already reeling. Meanwhile, the St. Louis Cardinals have seen their three games average 10 total runs thus far. Both teams have solid lineups that should be able to do damage against today’s mediocre starters Daniel Lynch and Dakota Hudson.

MLB Longshot Parlay Bet Today

Today’s Longshot Parlay (+1505)

  • Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 (+135)
  • Toronto Blue Jays Moneyline (+100)
  • Houston Astros Moneyline (-150)
  • Texas Rangers OVER 5.5 Runs (+105)

WAGER: 0.5 Units

MLB Best Longshot Parlay Today

As mentioned above, the Phillies have the edge against the Mets with today’s pitching matchup. Philadelphia’s formidable lineup should be able to score against Megill and win by multiple runs, especially if they can get to New York’s bullpen early.

The New York Yankees have a good team, but the Toronto Blue Jays might be the best team in the AL East this year. Toronto has the better starting pitcher tonight in Yusei Kikuchi – who was an All-Star last year – and in the end I have more faith in the Blue Jays’ bats than the Yankees’.

As noted above, the Astros should be able to get to Bumgarner tonight. They’re also the much stronger team after reaching the World Series last year, whereas the Diamondbacks tied for the worst record in baseball. Look for Houston to get the job done on the road here.

Lastly, the Colorado Rockies and Texas Rangers just combined for 10 runs on Monday and appear poised for another high-scoring affair with Chad Kuhl and Martin Perez starting. The Rangers have already scored 27 runs over their first four games and should continue their heavy hitting against Kuhl, who’s coming off a career-worst 4.82 ERA last season.
