NBA Props Betting Picks Jan 18, 2022 | Best Basketball Prop Bets Today 1/18/22
There are only two games in the NBA on Tuesday following an action-packed day of basketball on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday. The four teams that will be taking the court on Tuesday are the Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, and Golden State Warriors.
Despite there being a shortage of games to watch, here are my favorite prop bets for Tuesday’s two-game slate.
All NBA gameday odds and lines are current as of Tuesday, January 18, at 10 a.m. ET.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs New York Knicks (7:30 p.m. ET)
Anthony Edwards: OVER 27.5 Points, Rebounds, and Assists (-110) at DraftKings Sportsbook
Wager: 1 Unit
Anthony Edwards has become one of my favorite players to watch in the NBA on and off of the court. The second-year wing player is an electric offensive player who continues to have memorable moments in the media that make you enjoy his presence in the league that much more.
Players tend to perform better at Madison Square Garden, and Edwards shouldn’t be an exception when the Timberwolves travel to take on the Knicks. In his last game, Edwards had a peculiar performance, recording a season-low eight shot attempts and tied his season-low with only nine points.
Following his quiet outing, Edwards should stuff the stat sheet on Tuesday against the Knicks. Edwards’ points, rebounds, and assists line is set at 27.5 on DraftKings, a line that he’s hit in nine of his last 10 games.
I also like Edwards’ points at 19.5, but I’m confident he can reach 27.5 points, rebounds, and assists easily on Tuesday, making this our NBA bet of the day.
Anthony Edwards: OVER 27.5 PTS, REB, & AST @ Knicks

Karl-Anthony Towns: OVER 0.5 Steals (-150) at DraftKings Sportsbook
Wager: 2 Units
The Knicks aren’t a team that turns the ball over much as an offense. Tom Thibodeau has New York playing disciplined basketball, limiting their average to only 12.5 turnovers per game, which is the fifth-fewest in the NBA.
That being said, on DraftKings, all we need is for one of the turnovers that New York produces to be a steal by Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns isn’t known for his defensive prowess, but he’s averaging a modest 1.1 steals and a team-high 1.2 blocks per game this season.
In the steal department, Towns has notched at least one steal in eight of his last 10 games. With Julius Randle leading the Knicks with 3.4 turnovers per game, I’m fairly confident that Towns can get at least one steal on Tuesday night.
Karl-Anthony Towns: OVER 0.5 Steals @ Knicks
Bet $20, Payout $33

Detroit Pistons vs Golden State Warriors (10 p.m. ET)
Cade Cunningham: OVER 4.5 Assists (-140) at DraftKings Sportsbook
Wager: 2 Units
Rookie Cade Cunningham got off to a slow start this season, in large part due to an injury. But in recent weeks, Cunningham has looked increasingly comfortable in the NBA.
While Cunningham’s scoring output has been sporadic at times, his playmaking ability has been tremendous to watch this season. The rookie point-forward is averaging 5.3 assists per game, which is impressive given the supporting cast he currently has in Detroit.

Over his past 10 appearances, Cunningham has logged at least five assists in eight games. The last time that the Pistons faced the Warriors back in November, Cunningham finished with six assists in a game where Detroit nearly upset Golden State at home.
With Draymond Green sidelined for the Warriors, the Pistons may be able to be more competitive than usual, allowing Cunningham to dish out the assists we need.
Cade Cunningham: OVER 4.5 Assists @ Warriors
Bet $20, Payout $34
Kevon Looney: Over 0.5 Blocks (-125) at DraftKings
Wager: 1 Unit
Kevon Looney has received more playing time as of late for the Warriors due to the absence of Green. Looney has exceeded 24+ minutes played in six of his last 10 games and is operating as the starting center for Golden State.
While Looney is considered an undersized center, he’ll actually be taller than opposing center Isaiah Stewart. With Looney being the taller big man in this matchup, it could allow him to record a block or two down low.
Looney isn’t regarded as a revered rim protector. He’s only swatted one or more shots in five of his last 10 games. However, I’m expecting him to get 24-28 minutes, and he’ll have the size advantage inside, so I’ll take a chance on him sending at least one shot away from the Pistons.
Also, whenever Looney has received 25+ minutes this season, he’s posted at least one block in seven of those 10 games. So if Looney can get enough minutes tonight sans Green, then we should expect him to get in the block column at some point.
Kevon Looney: OVER 0.5 Blocks vs Pistons
