Kenneth Walker III To Win Heisman (+300) at Caesars Sportsbook
Kenneth Walker III: To Win 2021 Heisman Trophy
Bet $20, Payout $80
Walker has been the engine driving the 8-1 Michigan State offense all season. Running backs are rarely favored to win the Heisman, but Walker has absolutely made a case to be a finalist when it’s all said and done.
For starters, the Wake Forest transfer leads the nation with 1,340 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns on 198 attempts. He also has 10 receptions for 56 yards and another score as a pass-catcher.
While the Spartans suffered their first loss of the season in Week 10, it wasn’t due to a lack of effort from Walker. The junior running back scampered for 146 yards and a touchdown against Purdue, eclipsing 100 rushing yards for the sixth time this season.
Walker will look to replicate that performance in Week 11 against a Maryland defense that has allowed a 100-plus yard rusher in three of the past four weeks. With Michigan State favored to win on our CFB gameday odds, Walker should see plenty of action if the Spartans build up an early lead.
C.J. Stroud To Win Heisman (+400) at Caesars Sportsbook
C.J. Stroud: To Win 2021 Heisman Trophy
Bet $20, Payout $100
Stroud and Ohio State have come on strong following a slow start to the season. The freshman signal-caller has been highly efficient, completing 67% of his pass attempts for 2,675 yards, 25 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
The 20-year-old Stroud seems to keep getting better each week, which means he could be primed for a monster finish. He also benefits from having an NFL-ready wide receiving corps that features Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson.
Stroud will lead the 8-1 Buckeyes against Purdue this week, who just upset an undefeated Michigan State team in Week 10. A strong showing by Stroud against a Boilermakers defense that has limited teams to 185.3 passing yards per game (16th-fewest in college football) would boost his chances of making a late-season push for the award.
Matt Corral To Win Heisman (+550) at Caesars Sportsbook
Matt Corral: To Win 2021 Heisman Trophy
Bet $20, Payout $130
The 2022 NFL Draft class could be a bit light on quarterbacks — especially compared to last year — but Corral has emerged as one of the best options available.
Corral has led Ole Miss to a 7-2 record this season, with the two losses coming against Alabama and Auburn. While playing in a quarterback-friendly offense under Lane Kiffin, Corral has completed 66.8% of his throws for 2,526 yards, 16 touchdowns, and just two interceptions.
What has helped Corral remain in the race for the Heisman is his usage in the running game. The 22-year-old junior has carried the ball 116 times for 528 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. Is his rushing enough to make up the gap between him and Young and Stroud, though?
Corral still has two upcoming games against ranked teams in Texas A&M and Mississippi State. If he can put up explosive numbers in those contests, he could make things interesting for our CFB bet of the day when the season comes to a close.
2021 Heisman Trophy Prediction
Bryce Young To Win Heisman (+180) at Caesars Sportsbook
Bryce Young: To Win 2021 Heisman Trophy
Bet $20, Payout $56
An Alabama star is in the conversation to win the Heisman yet again this season. Young has been extremely efficient for the Crimson Tide, completing 69.5% of his passes for 2,755 yards, 28 touchdowns, and just three interceptions.
The only thing that could seemingly put Young’s Heisman hopes into question is his lack of rushing production. Young hasn’t been asked to tuck the ball and run often this season, rushing for only 18 yards and two touchdowns.
But besides his impressive passing numbers, Young is aided by playing for a team that’s currently ranked No. 2 in the nation. Alabama’s lone loss came earlier this season against Texas A&M — a game where Young still had 369 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Young has seen his Heisman odds rise in recent weeks, and I believe that happens again after Week 11’s contest against New Mexico State. Barring injury, the sophomore signal-caller for Nick Saban‘s championship-hopeful squad is well-positioned to follow in DeVonta Smith‘s footsteps and keep the Heisman Trophy in Alabama.
