Luka Doncic, SF, Dallas Mavericks vs. Golden State Warriors
Under 27.5 points (-115)
Wager: 1 unit
It’s been a rough start to the season for the Mavericks. They’ve lost seven of their last eight games and are just 9-14 on the season. Luka Doncic has been fantastic, however, as he has averaged 27-8-9 on a night to night basis. However, his shooting, especially from three-point land has been sporadic, at best. If he’s not hitting threes, Donic will easily have nights where he’s scoring in the mid-teens. And while he certainly can score 30 or more on any night, an over/under of 27.5 feels a bit rich. Take the under here for Doncic on Saturday night as they will face the Warriors in what should be a fantastic game.
James Harden, SG, Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers
Over 27.5 points (-110)
Wager: 1 unit
With Kevin Durant out of the lineup due to health and safety concerns, that leaves James Harden and Kyrie Irving to do most of the scoring work for the Nets. That’s never been a problem for Harden, as he has averaged over 25 points per game for his entire career. With the Nets, he’s been more of a facilitator, trying to get everyone involved in the offense. Harden has picked his moments to be aggressive, but his overall scoring has been down some as of late.
However, he’s going to need to shoot 23-25 times on Saturday night if the Nets want to compete with the 76ers. Look for Harden to get to the free-throw line close to double-digit times and to make upwards of three three-point shots. Take the over with confidence here in this game as Harden should be a lock to score 30 or more on Saturday night.
Ja Morant, PG, Memphis Grizzlies at New Orleans Pelicans
To score 20+ points (+110)
Wager: 1 unit
Ja Morant started off the 2020-2021 season hotter than anyone. In the first game of the season, he scored 44 points against the Spurs. In the next game, he scored 28 points. He was on the verge of superstardom, but an ankle injury knocked him out for several weeks. He returned a few weeks ago and hasn’t been able to replicate that type of scoring success yet. In fact, he doesn’t have a single game of 20 or more points since returning to the court.
So why are we betting on him to do it tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans? It certainly helps that the Pelicans have one of the worst defenses in the NBA, allowing over 112 points per game. But Morant is starting to be a bit more aggressive on the offensive end as he shot the ball 15 times in his last game against the Rockets. We know what type of scorer he can be and the odds are just too good to pass up on him here.
