NHL Bets of the Day 11/2/21
Best Bet: Flyers Moneyline (-225) at BetMGM
I know Arizona’s first win will have to come eventually, but I can’t see it happening on the road. The Flyers have started out this season strong, as they’re 4-2-1 through their first seven games and just wrapped up the Western Canada trip.
Cam Atkinson has been everything they’ve needed & then some as he has seven points in those seven games. Philly has been battling some injuries (namely Ryan Ellis) but they still have over 60% of the actual goals at 5v5 this season per MoneyPuck, one of the better marks in the league.
Arizona, meanwhile, has a roster specifically designed to tank for the No. 1 overall pick and that’s exactly what they’ve been doing thus far. The Coyotes have been outplayed on a nightly basis as they only have 46.3% of the expected goals at 5v5, and even worse, 33.3% of the actual goals.
This would be a peak Flyers game to lose but with how it’s been going for Arizona so far, it still feels too easy to pick Philly.

Best Bet: Flames Moneyline (-150) at BetMGM
The Flames have been red hot lately (no pun intended) and are showing the league that they may be a contender this season. They went a perfect 5-0 on their latest road trip and got scoring from their entire lineup, plus goaltender Jacob Markstrom played his tail off.
Markstrom is currently fourth in the league with eight goals saved above expected, plus has a .957 save percentage and three shutouts through eight games.
I know Nashville has won three in a row and has looked good doing it, but this seems like a game that’s going to be too tough to win. All of the Flames players have completely bought into Darryl Sutter‘s system, plus they have the goaltending edge, which not many teams can say when Juuse Saros is on the other side.
We’re getting one of the best teams in the NHL at a good price as home favorites (and rightfully so).
Best Bet: Wild -1.5 (+125) at BetMGM
The Wild have picked up from where they were last year and are off to a great start this season at 5-3-0. Kirill Kaprizov is showing why he deserves to make the big bucks with six points in eight games, plus Mats Zuccarello is also lighting it up after some struggles last season.
They host a Senators team who just got blown out by the Chicago Blackhawks, 5-1 on Monday night. This will be a back-to-back situation for Ottawa, while Minnesota hasn’t played since Saturday.
That matters, and it’s the main reason why I’m going with the Wild here. It’s also going to be tough for Ottawa to keep up with Minnesota’s offense, considering the Wild are a deeper team at forward and have more star power.
