2021 CFB National Champion Bets

Alabama (+250) at BetMGM

Never bet against ‘Bama. The powerhouse of powerhouses has a future first-round QB, an incredibly balanced attack on offense overall, star power across both sides of the field, and Nick Saban.

This might not be their most dominant year, but the Crimson Tide looks like they’re holding back a trump card.

Star QB Bryce Young has really yet to utilize his incredible mobility in the open field, and that seems to be deliberate in an attempt to keep it hidden and/or not build the bad habit of taking off and running at the first sign of trouble.

Saban is far too clever to give away big-time game plans and let opposing teams know what cards he holds ahead of time (see: Tua Tagovailoa replacing Jalen Hurts in National Championship).

Ohio State (+600) at BetMGM

THE Ohio State University is looking ridiculously elite again.

QB C.J. Stroud has come into his own as a passer and is now up to 22 TD on the season to just 3 INT. Moreover, he has also only taken a mere five sacks.

While Stroud’s mobility has remained limited, he’s supported an all-world WR corps of Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba to at least 500 receiving yards each through seven games. Running backs TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams have held their own as well, with over 1000 yards and exactly 13 TD between the two on just 119 carries.

Ohio State ranks third overall in Football Outsiders FEI Rankings, with with one of their more (relatively) mediocre defenses to date. It is not difficult to imagine them taking the Big Ten crown once more and getting in playoff shootouts.

Michigan (+3500) at BetMGM

Had to include one longshot in here for the sake of it. Michigan might be No. 5 in the polls, but they are still not close to respected by the betting market.

However, the Wolverines rank fourth overall in CFB FEI Ratings on FootballOutsiders with a top-12 offense and defense.

Has their schedule been extremely light? Yes. Did they almost lose to Nebraska? Also, yes.

Michigan’s toughest tests are coming in the next few weeks with Michigan State, Penn State, and dear rival Ohio State up. It’s much better to bet them now if you believe rather than wait until they complete some of these tasks.

2021 CFB National Champion Prediction

Alabama to Win CFB National Chmpionship (+250) at BetMGM

Alabama is here over Georgia because Georgia sports can never be trusted, UGA included.

The Bulldogs are the No. 1 team in the nation and have the wins, athletes, and peripheral stats on both sides of the ball to back it up, but at the end of the day, they can’t be trusted. Plus, having them as the betting favorite makes it less appealing in general. Maybe if they lose a game, you can take those odds but no thanks at (+120).

The Crimson Tide is tried and true. They have not only the coach and the history, but also the quarterback. Georgia’s made the shift from J.T. Daniels to Stetson Bennett which has carried more wins in their basket but not much hope added in a game manager.

Choose Alabama and make this your CFB bet of the day.
