February 4 NBA Prop Bet Tips

Picks in this article

Donovan Mitchell, PG, Utah Jazz at Atlanta Hawks

Over 31.5 points + rebounds + assists (-115)

Wager: 1 unit (win would pay .87)

Coming off maybe his best game of the season, Donovan Mitchell scored 32 points on just 17 shots against the Pistons on Tuesday night. He also added six rebounds as Mitchell has become a better rebounder over the last few weeks, averaging six total rebounds per game since January 19. For him to hit his overall total of 31.5 points, rebounds and assists on Thursday night, he’s going to need to continue to be an effective rebounder. Five or six rebounds on top of four or five assists should allow the over to hit with ease. And given how hot he can get from the three-point line as well is always comforting as Mitchell already has four 30-point games this season. Take the over here with confidence as the Jazz should put on a show on offense against the Hawks on Thursday night.

Anthony Davis, PF, Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets

Over 8.5 rebounds (-115)

Wager: 1 unit (win would pay .87)

One of the most surprising developments from the Lakers this season has been low rebounding numbers from Anthony Davis. On the season, he is averaging just 8.7 rebounds per game and that is the fewest he’s averaged since his rookie season. In fairness to him, his minutes are down some from last year and down overall from his career average. Still, you would think a player as athletic and talented as Davis would easily average double-digit rebounds per night. Luckily for bettors, that presents us plenty of value.

Heading into a rematch of the Western Conference Finals, the Lakers will host the Denver Nuggets in a primetime game on Thursday evening. It’s worth mentioning that in the five playoff games against the Nuggets last season, Davis averaged just 6.2 rebounds in the series. Still, he’s a good bet to get double-digit rebounds in this nationally televised game on TNT.

Jamal Murray, PG, Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Lakers

Over 20.5 points (+105)

Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.05)

Another interesting prop bet from this Lakers-Nuggets game is Jamal Murray to score over 20.5 points at +105. First and foremost, the odds themselves are fantastic given that Murray can score 30 points on any night. In the series against the Lakers last season, he averaged 25 points per game, but that was when he was playing 41 minutes per night. So why are we optimistic that he can score over 20.5 points in this game some rough shooting performances over the last two weeks? This game has an over/under of 218.5 points, which means oddsmakers believe both sides should have no problem at all getting to 105 or more points. And if the Nuggets are going to stay competitive in this contest, they are going to need Murray to have a big game. Look for the young superstar to try to get to the free-throw line five or six times and to hit multiple threes in this game. He should have no problem scoring double-digit points in each half as the Nuggets will lean on him to do most of the heavy lifting on offense.
