2021 Dodgers Win Total Bet: How Many Games Will Los Angeles Win?

2021 Dodgers Wins Over/Under

  • Over 103.5 (-110)
  • Under 103.5 (-110)

The Dodgers are all-in and ready to run things back after they claimed their first World Series title since 1988. The World Series hangovers are typically very real after grueling 162-game seasons that are followed by roughly 20 playoff games. However, after a 60-game year, the Dodgers are coming in as the most well-rested, fresh-legged World Series champs of possibly all-time.

There were very few departures from the 2020 season that could even be considered even moderately impactful. Enrique Hernandez is the most notable and he was more of a fan favorite than an impact player. The Dodgers could have rolled through into this season without even adding anyone outside of their organization and still had a triple-digit win year. However, they said “Nah" and signed the best free agent on the market in 2020’s Cy Young Award winner, Trevor Bauer.

On top of Bauer, the Dodgers gain an in-house addition to their rotation in David Price who sat out in 2020 due to health and safety. The rotation would have been young but fine without them but now, it is utterly dominant.

The three-headed beast of Bauer, Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler will be complemented by a back-end of elite youth in Dustin May, Julio Urias and Tony Gonsolin. They will mix their rotation up throughout the year and possibly even piggy-back starters with other starters to maximize efficiency (not burning relievers) while simultaneously keeping relievers fresh by not forcing them to pitch every other day like a typical season. Most importantly, the Dodgers can prevent relievers from pitching back-to-back days heavily.

On the offensive end, they brought back Justin Turner to play 3B despite having an MLB-ready Edwin Rios who will now play the role of bench bat and relieve corner infielders when need be. Gavin Lux, a top-5 prospect in all of baseball is pushing for a job at 2B and likely to start. His addition adds another layer of ceiling to this roster.

2021 Dodgers Win Total Wager: Over 103.5 wins (-110)

The Dodgers would have cracked the over in two of the past three full seasons they’ve played with 104 wins in 2017 and 106 in 2019. They were on pace to win 116 games in 2020’s shortened season with a 71.7 percent win percentage through 60 games. Their Pythagorean W-L had them right at their record and it makes sense given that the season was capped off by a World Series win.

It is not out of the realm of possibility for the Dodgers to set the MLB win-total/percentage record this season with the roster in place but given the likely rest days/phantom IL stints to come, they will settle for being the best team in baseball right now.
