We have been running extremely hot with our NHL best bets as of late and I’m hungry to continue this streak. Let’s take a look at some of my NHL best bets to help you get in on the small two-game slate of Wednesday NHL action.

NHL Bets of the Day 10/20/21
Best Bet: Bruins Moneyline (-140) at BetMGM
Wager: 2 units
I really liked the way the Boston Bruins looked in their first game of the season. They hung tough against an elite defensive unit for the Dallas Stars, despite having rookie goalie Jeremy Swayman in the net. Tuukka Rask, the long-time Bruins goalie, is still an unrestricted free agent, but many evaluators expect him to end up in Boston again eventually. However, for the time being, the Bruins will turn to Swayman.
Swayman looked poised against Dallas and if that continues, the Bruins should have no problem beating the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday. Boston has an excellent offensive attack and Flyers goalie Carter Hart has looked beatable through the team’s first two games. To Hart’s credit, he only allowed one goal to the Seattle Kraken, but he only had 23 saves. In the opening game of the season, Hart allowed four goals on 39 chances, which is obviously subpar.
Back the Bruins to take care of business on the road, especially if Jeremy Swayman can play as well in the net as he did in the Bruins’ first game of the season.
Best Bet: Bruins/Flyers Over 5.5 Goals (-120) at BetMGM
Wager: 1.25 units
As previously mentioned, the Bruins will be turning to a rookie goalie once again in Jeremy Swayman. The Flyers have Carter Hart who has looked far from what many expected him to be early on in his career. This has all the makings of a scoring parade for both teams.
While I was encouraged by Swayman’s performance earlier this week, there is inherent value on fading inexperienced goaltenders. The Bruins have the offense to really have a time offensively against the Flyers, and Philadelphia could potentially have a solid night of their own.
Back the over with two questionable goalies involved in this matchup and the Bruins being on three days’ rest.
