It’s a double dose of October baseball as the ALCS and NLCS will both be in action on Saturday. The Houston Astros host the Boston Red Sox, while the Atlanta Braves welcome in the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Astros hold a 1-0 lead in their series after some Carlos Correa heroics in Game 1 while the NLCS will be playing its own Game 1 on Saturday.
The Dodgers played a tough five-game series against the San Francisco Giants, ultimately eking out a 2-1 victory in Game 5. The Braves surprised many by having their way with the Brewers’ elite pitching staff in the NLDS, but they will once again have their hands full with the Dodgers’ three-headed monster of a rotation.
Both series figure to be evenly matched and excellent series overall, not unlike the rest of the playoffs so far. Here is a look at some pieces that you should be adding to your best MLB parlay bets today on Saturday, October 16.

Astros Moneyline (-135) at DraftKings
I’m backing the Astros to take a 2-0 series lead in the ALCS and get one step closer to another World Series appearance. Houston has been firing on all cylinders and I fully expect them to continue the offensive pace they are on.
The Red Sox have Nathan Eovaldi on the hill, but I don’t think he’s even enough to stop the Astros offensive freight train.
Red Sox/Astros Over 8.5 Total Runs (-120) at DraftKings
I might wind up backing every game’s over in this series. Both teams are capable of covering the over all by themselves on any given night. Boston and Houston both have terrific offenses and shaky pitching staffs, so expect the over to hit.
Dodgers Moneyline (-135) at DraftKings
It’s actually quite wild that the 106-win Dodgers do not have home field advantage over the 88-win Atlanta Braves, but that is the situation we are in. The Dodgers will look to take a series lead on the road behind their ace, Max Scherzer. The Braves will turn to their own ace, Max Fried, but the Dodgers’ right-handed dominant lineup should have no problems figuring him out.
Dodgers/Braves Over 8 Total Runs (-115) at DraftKings
I expect lots of scoring in Game 1 of the NLCS. Scherzer may not be properly rested after pitching in Game 5 of the NLDS just two nights ago and the Dodgers’ relievers are reeling from the “bullpen game" that was Game 5.
The Braves have a very solid offense behind Freddie Freeman and Ozzie Albies, and they could get to Scherzer early. The Dodgers could do the same with Fried, though, leading me to believe there is a solid chance the over hits.
ALCS & NLCS Parlay Best Bet (+938) at DraftKings
At (+938) odds, this MLB bet of the day has tremendous value. The Astros and Dodgers are the theme as I believe they are on their way to a World Series rematch in 2021.
