Best Bet: Minnesota Wild Moneyline (-155) at BetMGM

The Minnesota Wild figure to be a solid team this season when at full strength. They will play the Anaheim Ducks on the road, but I am backing them anyways.
The Ducks played a very strong first game against the Winnipeg Jets on their home ice, winning 4-1, but I believe that the Ducks’ strong showing is getting them a little too much credit on the moneyline, even as underdogs.
Minnesota is a far better team and with the reasonable juice, I’m backing them to take one away from Anaheim on the road.

Best Bet: Chicago Blackhawks Under 3 Goals (-135) at BetMGM
Wager: .5 units
The Blackhawks’ offense in their opening game of the season left a lot to be desired. They managed just two goals against an admittedly strong Colorado Avalanche defense, but holistically, they did not look strong.
The New Jersey Devils do not have the most amazing defense, but they limited some excellent, fast-paced offensive teams in the preseason. This included holding the Rangers, Capitals, and Islanders to one goal apiece.
Back the team total Under for the Blackhawks as the Devils come out fresh in their first game of the NHL season.
