Lonzo Ball, PG, New Orleans Pelicans vs. Houston Rockets
Over 22.5 points points + rebounds + assists (-114)
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay .88)
Lonzo Ball is coming off one of the best games of his career as he scored 27 points against the Bucks on Friday night. He made seven threes and was the best player on the floor for the Pelicans. Can he carry that momentum into Saturday night when his Pelicans take on the Rockets? We think so and the best way to bet on Ball this game is to wager on the over on total points + rebounds + assists at 22.5. As we saw last night, he’s capable of scoring over 22.5 points himself. Add in the fact that he’s always been a great rebounder for the position and this feels like an easy win. It’s also worth noting that Ball has had at least five assists in half of his games this season. Look for Ball to score into the teens and for the over to ultimately hit on this prop bet.
Steph Curry, PG, Golden State Warriors vs. Detroit Pistons
Most points scored (-210)
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay .48)
Steph Curry is starting to get back to the Steph Curry that we all remember. In his last eight games, he’s averaging 27.5 points per game and has three games during that stretch with at least 30 points. On Saturday, his Warriors will take on the Detroit Pistons, who are in a major slump. Detroit has lost 15 of their last 20 games dating back to the 2020 season. They also have one of the league’s worst offenses, scoring under 110 points per game. This game should quickly turn into a blowout and that means a ton of opportunities for Curry to put up points. At -210, he’s the favorite to score the most points in this game. Detroit doesn’t have anyone capable of scoring into the mid-20s, so this is a pretty safe bet. Don’t be afraid to bet an entire unit on Curry to lead this game in points.
Kemba Walker, PG, Boston Celtics at Los Angeles Lakers
Over 16.5 points (-110)
Wager: 0.5 units (win would pay .45)
The biggest game of the night will feature the Boston Celtics taking on the Los Angeles Lakers at 8:00 p.m. One player to keep an eye on during that game is Kemba Walker of the Celtics. Los Angeles has struggled with quick guards some this season and Walker is that type of player. He’s starting to find his groove offensively over the last few weeks as he’s averaged 16.4 points per game in the last four games. Not surprisingly, his over/under on points for Saturday night sit at 16.5 points. In what should be a fun and competitive game, we like Walker to go over that total against the Lakers. If he can do a better job of getting to the foul line (only 2.4 attempts per game over the last five games), he should have no problem scoring into the low 20s. Consider putting one-half unit on Walker to score more than 16.5 points against the Lakers.
